Job Description


Summary of Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate Surgery, PACU, Central Supply and GI Lab units; direct and supervise functions and activities; interpret policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as is appropriate to personnel, medical staff, patients, and public; and perform nursing duties as needed. Direct, coordinate, and administer the operations and activities of the department in order to effectively achieve the organization’s established goals; assess and evaluate care/services provided, staffing levels, competence, and educational needs of all employees and effectively coordinate and control resources. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and development and implementation of organizational and department policies/procedures; maintain an environment for continuous quality improvement; and be responsive to organizational change and community needs.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Baccalaureate in Nursing or equivalent preferred. Masters Required. Current licensure of the State of California. BCLS provider. CNOR required. Minimum of 5 years acute hospital clinical nursing required. Previous DIRECTOR experience REQUIRED.

Have you been involved in efficiency measures? 


The Ideal Candidate


Somebody with around 17 years of progressive OR expeirence. 10+ years in periop. Must be currently a director or above. Must come from a mid size-large union hospital. A candidate who has received leadership training that has provided them with significant learning opportunities such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc. Need a person who can get in an roll up their sleeves. Someone who's had lots of experience with budgeting and service line growth and day to day department functions.
