Job Description

Plans, organizes and directs the daily activities of the Cardiac Cath Lab.  Performs a variety of administrative functions in support of the Director.

Performs a variety of direct patient care, works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused, and strives to meet department and hospital goals. Provides quality nursing care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the areas assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, and/or EXPERIENCE

Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse. Previous hospital experience in area of specialty preferred. Prior experience as a charge nurse or coordinator, preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification required. Advanced certification in field of specialty/expertise preferred.  ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.

OTHER REQUIRED SPECIAL SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrates theoretical and clinical expertise and the application of knowledge thereof, in the assigned specialty. Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills.  Basic computer skills required.

Must be able to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced work environment.  Must have the ability to prioritize appropriately.  Must be detail oriented and have the capacity to effectively multitask throughout the work shift.  Must have excellent communication skills and the capacity to interact professionally with a variety of “customers”, including but not limited to patients, families, co-workers, volunteers, and physicians throughout the work shift.  Must possess the ability to function independently, yet productively as a cooperative team member with various work teams associated with the position.  Must be compliant, with a willingness to follow all Hospital policies as well as the established practices, protocols and procedures of the position, department and applicable professional standards.
