The Position

The Business Development (BD) Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for leading the sales organization for a $60M business.  The BD Manager will be charged with furthering our domestic sales through the creation of a disciplined and sophisticated sales strategy, with the goal of adding $100M+ of sales to us within the next 12-18 months.  The position will have accountability for both inside and outside sales, with a focus on outside sales.  The BD Manager will cultivate existing relationships, but must also leverage our network and overall PCC Energy capabilities to increase our customer base.  Ultimately, the BD Manager must exhibit exceptional leadership capability, business savvy, and relationship building skills in order to elevate us to the next level.  

 

Principal Accountabilities Include:

• Leverage existing technology and capabilities to provider a broader solution to increase market share.  This will include offering large-turnkey O&G infrastructure components to EPC and Equipment manufacturers.

• Develop a sophisticated sales strategy that is closely aligned with the overall business goals, both short term and long term.

• Create a stronger connection between the sales organization and operations (plant locations) to promote more communication and operational efficiency.

• Identify opportunities/projects, lead negotiations, and close deals to provide solutions on a large scale that will result in longer term contracts.  Solutions will include but not be limited to supply of raw material, extrusion & forging, heat treating, machining and inspection.  Targeted components include Risers Pull tubes, Stress Joints, keel Joints and other large critical components for offshore applications.

 

The Person

The ideal candidate will have significant sales leadership experience, ideally within the Oil & Gas industry.  S/he will be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in substantially growing sales through execution of a disciplined strategy, growing existing relationships, and penetrating new accounts.  Must have a combination of tactical and strategic skills – s/he will set the overall sales strategy for the company while playing a customer facing role to increase revenue.  Must understand how to both sell through distribution channels and navigate project based contracts with proven success around building new relationships within those channels.  S/he will have exceptional leadership skills and experience building/restructuring sales teams.  Furthermore, the ideal candidate will bring a metrics-based reporting structure and create a results driven culture.

 

Desired Skills and Experiences Include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related

  field; relevant work experience may be substituted.

• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

• Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

• Strong customer orientation.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.

• Track record of building high performance teams.

• Strong team player.

• Sales leadership within a manufacturing environment.

• Computer skills including CAD, MS Office, and Oracle experience a plus.

• Travel required.
