Job Description

 

The Applications Architect is an advanced professional role that typically leads medium sized projects, working closely with other IT staff to deliver solutions for the business. The Apps Architect works under the general direction of the Senior Manager and/or Director of Technology, Applications Architecture & Design.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

- Review and assess impact of proposed technologies to the enterprise architecture and cross functional impacts.

- Function as a solutions architect within the pre-project phases of an IT program, including development of future state designs and specifications for application and technical architectures.

- Responsible for design of new applications from conception to completion and oversee the technical staff involved with the development project. Works with business executives and end-users to conceptualize a new application project, recommends technical resources and strategies, then designs technical solution for the project.

- Assist with delivery of projects - on schedule, budget, quality and scope following defined processes/controls.

- Creates design solutions and has review sessions with business and IT counterparts to ensure solution meets business objectives. Compiles technical documentation and engages in all levels of solution delivery and implementation. Coordinate cross functionally on complex projects.

- Participate in decision making process around technology strategy, conduct analysis on technical viability of solutions and provide guidance on delivery of complex projects.

- Review and assess impact of proposed technologies to the enterprise architecture.

- Design custom solutions for projects of moderate risk and complexity in an Oracle ERP environment.

- Increases customer satisfaction through continuous improvement and delivery of quality products and services. Projects will include, but are not limited, to customization and configuration changes in Oracle ERP Financial modules, Invoicing, and Customer Master (TCA)

- Develops and maintains ERP design and coding standards.

- Produces and updates architecture and design documents for review and approval.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

 

Typically Requires:

 

- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in information technology or related field

- 7 years of experience in information technology

- Specific technology skills to include:

 

- Experience in PL/SQL programming, Oracle Workflow, Oracle Reports, BI & XML Publisher, Forms - Customization & Personalization, Shell Scripting & Interfaces.

- Experience in OAF extensions, ADF, Java, JSP, XML and EDI skills.

- Experience in Solution's Design in R12 Oracle EBS ERP modules.

- Experience in customization of Oracle EBS ERP modules.

- Ability to produce high quality project documentation

- Strong experience with Oracle Application Object Library, Oracle Applications Coding Standards,

- Oracle Applications User Interface Standards, Oracle AIM and CDM Methodology
