Job Description

Searching for an OR Educator who will coordinate, facilitates and/or teaches continuing education classes and is responsible to maintain unit education records and oversee staff education files. In this role, the OR Educator acts as a catalyst for change and adapts to change in a positive and professional manner. The OR Educator will be responsible for OR circulator duties for break/lunch relief (some circulating duties for call-ins/vacations) in addition to all computer training, IT support for the Cerner Surginet program to include building preference cards/charge sheets, etc. In addition, the OR Educator conducts policy and procedure analysis; annual safety training and the AORN per-operative classes. Some call may be required, as needed, as well as any additional assignments.

Qualifications:

Graduate of a professional nursing school program.

Current Professional Nurse License issued and/or recognized by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. BLS, ACLS and PALS certified.

RN circulator with OR clinical educator experience; clinical IT experience with knowledge of building clinical systems to include but not limited to preference cards and charge sheets. Proficiency with relevant software.
