Company Description

Welcome to the good side of tech 👋

You might have heard about us, but with a different name: Doctoralia. It all started 10 years ago, when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step of making the healthcare experience more human?

Docplanner at scale

We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 90 million patients trust us every month. 300.000+ specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 2.500 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup-mindset we started with over 10 years ago.

How does Docplanner Tech fit here?

At Docplanner Tech we are a diverse group of over 400 people working in Engineering, Data, and Product teams. We are responsible for building the product for all locations. Many of us have been here for over 5 years, yet we still welcome each new person with great joy and excitement.

We could tell you about us, but we will let our reviews on Glassdoor speak for themselves. In case you’d like to see how it feels to be 100% yourself at work, here’s a video of us

And why should you join us?

Because it feels good to tell your family and your friends how you made the world a little bit better. You go to bed knowing that what you do matters, and that your talents align with your beliefs.

We want to make the healthcare experience more human, and that starts with you being you. We believe that taking the diversity of human experience into account makes a better healthcare experience for all . We’re not just different: we embrace diversity. We will encourage you to come to work your whole self, and that includes not coming to the office at all if you prefer not to, as we're 100% remote-friendly.

Job Description

As a Product Design Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and fostering collaboration across our design teams. Your primary focus will be managing and evolving Watson, our design system, to deliver consistency, scalability, and flexibility across our products. By enabling seamless design operations, you will empower teams to create outstanding, user-centered solutions.

In this role, you will lead a team of three talented designers, guiding their growth while ensuring their work aligns with our platform’s vision and standards. Additionally, you will remain hands-on—taking ownership of critical projects, contributing directly in Figma, and setting an example for delivering exceptional design outcomes.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on balancing big-picture strategy with practical execution, ensuring both the design system and the teams behind it operate at their best.

We are looking for a Product Design Manager – Ops to:

  • Own and evolve Watson, our design system: Ensure it is scalable, accessible, and flexible for all product teams, addressing emerging needs and maintaining quality.
  • Lead and manage a team of three product designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster growth and high-quality outputs.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring the design system stays on track: decide sprint priorities, assign tasks, and set deadlines.
  • Drive operational excellence in design practices, optimizing design team workflows and ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality work. Also, improving, owning, and gatekeeping our Figma structure and files to make sure we are as efficient as possible.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to align on the platform’s design strategy and execution.
  • Facilitate adoption and education of the design system by creating resources and providing training to improve understanding and usage across teams, driving its adoption.
  • Advocate for design quality and operational scalability, striking the right balance between speed and sustainable design practices.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of design system components into tools like Figma, maintaining thorough documentation to ensure usability and accuracy.

Qualifications

What you should have:

  • A portfolio showcasing design systems you have created or significantly contributed to.
  • Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a small team of designers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Deep expertise with Figma, component libraries, and other design system management tools.
  • A strategic mindset focused on design scalability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and bridging the gap between design, product, and engineering.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of systems thinking, user-centered design principles, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and operational strategies to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data-informed decision-making, including metrics to measure the effectiveness of design operations and systems.
  • 6+ years of experience in interaction design. Bonus: Experience in front-end development.
