Job Description

We are in search of a Senior Software Engineer to join our payment platform development team based in Luxembourg. This role entails working on a distributed system that operates 24/7, ensuring it meets both performance and security demands. Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain our payment platform, guaranteeing secure, efficient, and reliable payment processing. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-availability system with strict security requirements.

As part of Escalion, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our systems. You will collaborate with an excellent team of engineers, focusing on tools, software, and systems that deliver outstanding user experiences to our customers. 

Your core responsibilities will include;

  • Design and implement high-availability services.
  • Research and implement emerging technologies.
  • Maintain services to ensure they operate with high performance (#DevOps). Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality results.
  • Support business decision-making through technical expertise.
  • Provide constructive feedback on technical solutions.
  • Drive the tech community within the organization.
  • Continuously learn and enhance your skills.

Qualifications

You have a strong background in application and tool development, along with excellent communication skills. Most importantly, you are a true team player who:

You possess experience in:

  • Creating secure and scalable systems.
  • Modernizing legacy processes via automation to align with current development standards. Proficiency with Linux and command line interfaces.
  • Relentless about testing and quality assurance.
  • Valuing an audited and efficient SDLC.

You probably have experience with some of these technologies, and you are keen to learn the rest:

  • Technologies for data storage and processing, such as SQL, Elasticsearch, and message queues
  • Familiarity with programming languages and frameworks like PHP, Symfony, JavaScript, and Bash
  • Building containers, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems
