Job Description

Our dedicated team of Engineering needs a CTO to join us in Luxemburg!
The CTO is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO. The CTO will be charged pushing the frontiers of technology through the development and implementation of company-wide technology programs and strategies. He/ she will leverage on technology to build and sustain business value in alignment with the organization’s overall vision, strategies and objectives. The CTO leads the planning and implementation of all Technology-related management and reporting systems, client operations and internal communications. He/She will define, update and implement a Technology strategy, and manage information technology across the organization.

With us, you will…

  • Work closely with senior management (CEO, COO, CHRO, CODO, CPO, CFO, etc.) in creating the short- and long-term vision of the company, defining the related IT strategy, goals and priorities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to determine the size, scope and duration of proposed projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure Technology resources are available and properly aligned with anticipated project demands.
  • Define and communicate corporate plans, procedures, policies and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating new IT security systems, equipment, software, and other technologies.
  • Define corporate standards, infrastructure solutions and architectures according to the existing industry standards to support the achievement of organizational goals and to meet business needs and expectations.
  • Oversee employee recruitment, manage staff performance and supervision of assigned resources in the Technology Department.
  • Maintain accountability for information security, risk vendor relationship management, product selection and negotiation of high-level contracts and consulting agreements to provide services and capabilities for the protection of the group’s data assets.
  • Maintain awareness of technology-related audit best practices and ensure the maintenance of appropriate internal controls and security-related procedures.
  • Support the investigation of reported security breaches and develop strategies to handle security incidents and trigger investigations in accordance with GDPR requirements.
  • Participate in leading industry forums and consortiums to represent business interests and set standards/practices
  • Any other activities defined by the CEO.

Qualifications

What we expect from you...

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience required, MBA will be additional plus.
  • Global knowledge and experience with a stint at Fortune 500 IT company list, or experience in conducting a company through an IPO.
  • Passionate leader with at least 10 years of experience in primarily technical leadership roles with demonstrated skills, experience and leadership capabilities necessary to drive continued rapid and profitable growth.
  • Deep understanding of the right balance of productivity, adaptability, quality craftsmanship and high organizational trust to establish relationships and effective communication with other leaders inside and outside the organization.
  • Experience in developing distributed high-availability and high-performance systems for high traffic (35+ million daily visitors) deployed in multi-regional on-premise data centres.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise-level technology roadmaps, excels at identifying the necessary steps to get things done; ability to organize people and activities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization with ability to deal with changing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to define goals and manage expectations for the engineering organisation; ideally using OKRs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in software development processes, application architecture patterns and live media streaming technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of modern backend and frontend languages, technologies and services, their purpose and strong/weak points. Having experience with WebRTC, WebSockets, PHP, MySQL, Redis, ReactJS, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Golang will be additional bonus points.
  • Experience working with HR and Recruitment teams to create and oversee hiring processes to identify and attract talented individuals, and to instill a culture supporting team members' career growth.
  • English: excellent written and verbal skills, any other European language is an advantage.
