Company Description
Digital Divide Data (DDD) is an AI-enabled digital operations and data services company that delivers ML data solutions and content services to Fortune 500 companies and the world’s leading academic institutions.
Job Description
Read this part before anything else
You will not be teaching people what AI is.
You will be getting young Kenyans, most of them with limited professional exposure and uneven digital confidence, to the point where they can use AI tools to do real technical work. Accurately, at pace, and inside a client's rules. Within weeks.
If you have run a cohort, watched a third of them plateau, and rebuilt the curriculum because of what you saw in the assessment data, we want to talk to you.
If your relationship with AI is that you use it a lot and find it exciting, this role will not suit you.
The Job
DDD's Career Connect programme prepares candidates for entry into our operations team and into the wider labour market. You own the AI component of that preparation, end-to-end.
You will own:
- The curriculum. Design, delivery, and iteration. It is yours to build and yours to fix.
- The standard. Not attendance, assessment. You define what "ready" means, you defend it against pressure to pass people through, and you show the evidence behind it.
- The line to Operations. What you teach must match what a client expects. That alignment is your job to secure, not something handed to you.
- Trainer capability. You cannot deliver every session forever. Other facilitators must be able to run your material without you in the room.
You will be measured on:
- Percentage of each cohort meeting an Operations-set practical benchmark by end of programme.
- Reduction in ramp time to production standard for graduates entering delivery.
- Quality and error rates of AI-assisted work produced by graduates in their first [90] days.
- Number of facilitators able to deliver your material independently.
You will have real influence over these numbers, and you will be asked about them.
What we need evidence of
- You have built and run a training programme end to end. You wrote the material, taught it, assessed it, and changed it based on what the results told you. Two or more years of this.
- You can show us the material. A curriculum map, a session plan, an assessment rubric, a learner workbook, a graded practical task. Something you made, that real people were taught from.
- You have trained adults with mixed digital exposure, people who were nervous about technology, not colleagues who already worked in tech.
- You have used AI tools to produce work someone else depended on, in a job, under a deadline, where being wrong had a consequence.
- You can hold a room. Facilitation is a performance skill. We will assess it live, not from your CV.
- Experience: Training in a BPO that has AI-enabled digital operations and data services or equivalent
What will set you apart
- BPO or shared-services background. You understand what a client SLA does to a training plan.
- You have built simulations and graded practical tasks, not decks.
- You have worked directly with an operations or quality team to move a specific metric.
- You have taken someone from frightened of the tool to fluent with it, and can describe how.
Qualifications
What we do not require
- A Computer Science, IT or Data Science degree. We care what you have taught and what your learners could do afterwards. If you came to this from classroom teaching, operations, quality assurance, or an employability programme and taught yourself the AI, you are close to exactly who we are looking for.
- You need to have formal education, a minimum of a Relevant Diploma
- Certifications. Bring them if you have them. They will not substitute for the work sample.
Send three things. Applications missing any of them will not be reviewed.
1. Your CV
2. One artifact you built. A curriculum outline, a session plan, an assessment or rubric, a learner guide, or a recorded excerpt of you facilitating. It does not need to be polished or recent. It needs to be yours. Redact anything confidential and tell us what you removed.
3. Answers to the four questions below. Around 150 words each. Short and specific beats long and general.
Application questions
- Describe one group you trained. What could they do at the end that they could not do at the start, and how do you know? Give us the numbers you actually had, including the disappointing ones.
- Tell us about a module or session that did not work. What was the evidence it wasn't working, what did you change, and what happened next?
- Describe a piece of real work you produced using AI tools where accuracy mattered. What did the tool get wrong, how did you catch it, and what did you put in place so it wouldn't happen again?
- A learner uses an AI tool to complete an assessment you set. What do you do, and what did your curriculum already say about that before it happened?
Combine all of these into 1 document with your CV as you submit.
