Job Description

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to join our Nearshore Devoteam team. This role will work in an international environment, focusing on ensuring the operational integrity and high availability of a global Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platform for a major Telecommunications client. Candidates must be based in Portugal, as you’ll be integrated into one of our Portuguese delivery teams.

  • Act as a Technical Service Owner for a mission-critical M2M ecosystem, overseeing more than 20 interconnected systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of backend data flows, ensuring critical billing and reporting services operate without disruption.
  • Automate operational workflows using Python or Bash to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, identifying and resolving complex technical incidents.
  • Lead technical communication with external vendors and partners to ensure strict compliance with established SLAs.
  • Implement and refine observability strategies using modern tools such as Elasticsearch, GraphQL, and Grafana.
  • Collaborate with international engineering teams to plan system upgrades, define operational requirements, and participate in architectural decisions.
  • Maintain comprehensive runbooks and operational documentation to ensure consistency across the platform’s lifecycle.

Qualifications

 

  • Solid experience in System Administration, with a strong focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Proven experience in Automation, using Python, Bash, or Ansible to manage large-scale infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with Observability and Monitoring stacks (e.g., Elasticsearch, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana).
  • Experience in Service Management and high-pressure support environments (ITIL knowledge is highly valued).
  • Knowledge of Data Querying and API integration, specifically using GraphQL (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to manage technical relationships with global stakeholders and vendors.
  • Analytic mindset with a proactive approach to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Cloud/Virtualization infrastructures (AWS or VMware) and networking fundamentals (VPNs, Firewalls).
