Job Description

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud solutions for our clients, including software development and DevOps. A key part of your role will be conducting AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFRs) to ensure our clients' cloud environments and applications are secure, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their business needs and provide expert guidance on best practices for building and optimizing cloud solutions. Your deep knowledge of AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), software development expertise, and solution architecture experience will be critical in delivering high-quality solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFRs) and provide actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Remediate issues discovered by the WAFR process.
  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks and processes using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Utilize AWS CLI and other command line tools to efficiently manage and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with AWS services, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
  • Assist in the development of automated deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with development teams to ensure cloud solutions are aligned with business goals and technical requirements.

Qualifications

  • AWS Expertise: Significant experience working with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, cost management, and more.
  • Certification: AWS Solution Architect Associate certification or equivalent/greater is required; AWS Solution Architect Professional certification is a strong plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS. Prior experience conducting WAFRs is highly desirable.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong experience with Terraform and CloudFormation for managing and automating infrastructure deployments.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks and processes.
  • Command Line Tools (CLI): Strong experience using AWS CLI and other command line tools (e.g. Steampipe, Powerpipe, Prowler) for cloud management and troubleshooting.
  • Software Development: Strong background in software development, including experience with programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or .NET C#.
  • Solution Architecture: Experience designing and architecting cloud solutions, with a focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization.
  • DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, C level executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Additional Information

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $160,000-$185,000*

Therefore, this good faith salary range will only apply where this described position will be performed in the state, and should not be considered the compensation range in other locations or for other positions.
