Job Description

The Associate position represents the start of a media career. You will report to a Local Broadcast Buyer.

 

The Associate helps coordinate the buying process. As an entry level position, you will represent the start of a media career and be supervised by a Local broadcast buyer.

You are important in the daily tactical management of the media buying account by coordinating the buying process. It requires you to work well in a team-based environment. You are not expected to have advanced Media training, but a successful Associate shows initiative and wants to participate in advanced projects.

You will undergo intensive training to learn new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures. You will be encouraged to contribute ideas and insights to benefit our clients.

Buying and Execution:

  • Issue and coordinate television, radio and cable avail requests
  • Order schedules by Order Manager
  • Obtain and check schedule confirmations
  • Assist buyer with discrepancy resolution
  • Handle makegoods following client guidelines with buyer guidance
  • Assist buyer with revisions and maintenance of schedules
  • Keep legible and organized paperwork and make certain buy folders include all relevant reports and paperwork
  • Keep buyer informed of workload

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Support Buyers in preparing and delivering work to clients, colleagues within dentsu
  • Assist buyers in maintaining client budget levels
  • Attend all status meetings
  • Manage relationships with external client vendors
  • Inform buying staff of new opportunities or issues
  • May participate and contribute in face-to-face client or vendor meetings
  • Engage with all work-related contacts through personal and written communications

Market Research & Leadership:

  • Keep current with market research (industry periodicals, email newsletters, websites)
  • Demonstrate ability to apply insights over time
  • Take clear ownership of assigned tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 0-2 years industry experience
  • 1+ years of experience in analytics or math
  • Interest in and familiarity with media buying

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $45,000. Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
