Job Description
This Associate Director of Client Solutions and Planning role is a leadership role and a managerial role, across two legacy, award-winning CPG brands. You will set the working style for the group, lead the strategic direction and be a marketing partner for the clients, implementing media and never been done innovation to campaigns.
You will be an expert on the clients’ business and a leader on your client business and within the agency. You are responsible for demonstrating a working knowledge of the media space, for both digital and traditional channels, and available media research. You will identify business opportunities and solutions.
The Associate Director sets the tone for how the account is managed, by assuring focus on client goals and delivering appropriate resources while maintaining profitability. Experience in CPG from a traditional media agency is a must. You will also have prior experience working with creative agencies in an IAT environment. You will report to the VP of Planning, who oversees our client-agency relationship for both media and creative for the account. This role can be remote.
Responsibilities:
· Accountable for media strategy and new ideas alongside fundamentals such as quality and accuracy.
· Demonstrate ability to use resources (syndicated, proprietary, analyst data) to help guide client’s marketing goals and apply to recommendations
· Work with activation department leads (programmatic, social, search, retail search, and shopper) to outline appropriate processes and timelines to ensure success
· Use data for storytelling and be familiar with general media analytics and MMM models
· Understand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for clients’ media strategies
· Maintain relationships with the media community; continue to develop publisher and other relationships for exchange of ideas, with a consideration for minority-owned and operated media publishers and new, never been done opportunities (betas, latest tech etc.)
· Be the central contact across investment, strategy, analytics, and creative teams
· Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients
· Represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work; use this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
· Identify opportunities to offer other agency service line offerings to existing clients
· Grow business opportunities within current clients
· Ensure information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status.
· Comfortable managing and working with large teams – directly and indirectly with junior talent and cross-discipline and cross agency, including IAT and creative partners
Qualifications
· 5+ years of communications/integrated media planning experience
· Provide and guide strategic input for all plans internally and externally
· Deep expertise interpreting consumer data and insights and applying them to create unique, audience-first communications and connections plans
· Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamics
· Have working knowledge of dynamic/personalization campaigns and multicultural planning and strategy (specifically for Hispanic audience), a plus
· Knowledge of current trends and innovations in media and culture
· Ability to understand the causes of problems and develop ways to rectify
· Experience training, motivating and developing a media planning group
· Construct and deliver accurate, honest performance management documents
· Experience in custom integrations and sponsorships, collaborative IAT settings, or brand and demand based media campaigns
· In depth client service experience
· Experience developing tactical campaigns (several, fast turn retail) for both traditional & digital channels
· High-level proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (can perform complex functions)
· Working knowledge of Insights tools such as MRI and Simmons and tools like Nielsen Ad Intel or Kantar Strategy
· Experience with industry tools: (Telmar, Pathmatics, comScore) and buying platforms (DDS, MediaOcean, HudsonMX)

Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,000. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
