Job Description

We are looking for someone able to:

  • Develop and enhance software applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Design and build cloud-native and service-oriented solutions on AWS and Kubernetes environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, propose solutions, and drive optimisation and improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide recommendations, and lead code refactoring and performance enhancement efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Design, develop, and optimise scalable and efficient REST web services.
  • Design, implement, and optimise SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Integrate applications with other enterprise systems, using industry-standard integration technologies and best practices.
  • Work with monitoring tools to enhance system performance and lead performance improvement initiatives.
  • Explore, evaluate, and drive the adoption of new technologies and frameworks to improve system architecture and development processes.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines, and drive the adoption of best practices across the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, share knowledge with the team, and drive continuous learning and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Java development experience, including microservices.
  • 2+ years with frontend frameworks like React and Angular.
  • Proficient in Spring Framework, including Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Spring Security OAuth2 and JWT.
  • Skilled in AWS services and serverless architecture.
  • Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes (AWS ECS is a plus).
  • Experience with tools like SonarQube or Snyk for code quality.
  • Strong in designing RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of Flyway or Liquibase for database migrations.
  • Experience in unit and integration testing using JUnit 5, Mockito.
  • Proficient in GIT, with knowledge of branching strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of Hibernate or other ORM tools.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk is a plus).
  • Proficient in Gradle and Maven for build automation.
  • Understanding of design patterns and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Fluent in English.

Additional information:

  • Ability to travel to Geneva every other month for 2 days
  • Ability to work with the Geneva timezone
