Job Description

At Merkle, the Program Director oversees and drives the success of multiple complex digital projects and programs within our organisation. Hence, you are responsible for the program but will guide and collaborate closely with skilled project managers, who drive the specific projects related to the overall program.

You will lead the development and execution of delivery approaches and plans for all projects, while also spearheading organisational changes to cultivate an empowering environment that enables teams to deliver exceptional solutions for our clients.

You will have agency-wide responsibilities, serving as an ambassador for all delivery processes. Your key responsibility is to enhance delivery methodologies, reporting, and knowledge sharing to provide guidance and support to account and project teams, and ultimately empowering them to deliver the best possible solutions to our clients.

Tasks include:

  • Foster client relationships by being a trusted advisor who consistently delivers high-quality solutions.
  • Build and maintain day-to-day relationships with key clients' senior stakeholders and act as a point of escalation for program-related client issues.
  • Help shape the agency's methodology, encourage knowledge sharing across the agency and foster a culture of learning and educating on best practices to enhance client service.
  • Oversee a portfolio of programs and projects to maintain a clear and efficient pipeline of work.
  • Skilfully negotiate timelines, scope, and budget with clients across the account portfolio, including handling changes throughout projects.
  • Track projects and identify risks to ensure they meet the expected budget, time and scope.
  • Provide assistance to project and/or program managers in overcoming challenges and support them in driving the projects to completion
  • Co-lead the recruitment, introduction, and review process for the project management team to ensure an experienced and motivated workforce.
  • Optimise delivery processes throughout the agency, driving continuous improvement in methodologies and practices.
  • Enhance reporting and knowledge-sharing mechanisms to ensure valuable insights are leveraged across programs, fostering growth and efficiency.

You will report to Louise Stolberg, Managing Director.

Qualifications

  • You have 10+ years of experience in a Project Management role in a digital environment
  • You are certified in agile, embodying agile principles and values in project execution.
  • You are proficient in multiple project management methodologies.
  • You have a proven track record of successfully delivering large and complex digital projects including development, data and creatives.
  • You are experienced in facilitating effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • You have excellent documentation skills, ensuring clear and organised project records.
  • You are experienced in optimising project schedules and deadlines.
  • You take ownership and responsibility, and you are proactively seeking solutions.
