Associate Director, Paid Search

Job Description

This role can be remote from any U.S. city and will work CST hours.

 

The purpose of this role is to develop and lead best in class strategies and management of Paid Search accounts. Reporting to the Sr. Director, the Associate Director, Paid Search will provide leadership across the business and liaise with other channels to ensure an integrated response to marketing objectives.

You Will:

  • Ensure best practice and innovation in all paid search activities; serve as point of escalation identifying and successfully resolving problems in a client-centric environment.
  • Develop and own SEM media strategy for assigned account(s) that aligns with business objectives; oversee execution of strategy and optimizations by SEM media team
  • Immerse self in clients' business: understanding their goals, external economic environment, industries; also know their business model, and what success looks like
  • Manage direct reports and be accountable for career development
  • Liaise with other channels and client programs; share and learn strategies internally to ensure innovative ideas and new tactics are applied
  • Ensure proper vendor management and communication, amongst team and client
  • Guide advanced data analyses to ensure structural set-up/test design, timing, KPIs and outcome delivery align with agency best practices
  • Assist with broader department education by leading cross-office meetings, developing POVs, facilitating training initiatives, and contributing to new business development

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of overall business experience with the majority of experience in a search engine marketing role, preferably at an advertising or media agency, or client-side internal SEM team
  • Minimum 1.5-2 years of managerial/supervisory experience, overseeing a team of employees
  • Advanced knowledge of SEM best practices, tools and technologies. Must understand key performance metrics against diverse marketing goals, and how to apply those KPIs to SEM execution, bid management, and insight development.
  • Deep understanding of how SEM integrates with other channels, including but not limited to Display Media, Paid Social, SEO, and Feeds
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; including the ability to present to VP+ and C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies
  • Must be capable of developing and delivering strategic presentations and to think on one's feet. Also demonstrate an ability to communicate statistical findings and data insights in a compelling, convincing fashion
  • Experience with Structured Data/Data Feeds as they apply to Google & Bing Shopping Ads aka PLAs is a plus
  • A team player with a positive attitude who is able to handle stressful situations and deadlines calmly

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $59K-$92K. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
