Job Description
Merkle, an innovative leader in Marketing technology, is seeking a Manager-level Campaign Business Consultant to work on high-profile Campaign Solution Implementations. This position sits in Merkle's Campaign Implementation team and is primarily responsible for interpreting and advising on clients' marketing campaign needs, and interfacing with the technical development and architecture teams to ensure that the campaign solution that is delivered conforms to the client's expectations. As such this position requires understanding of both the business and technical aspects of the marketing campaign process, and communication skills are critical. The Campaign Business Consultant will be working within the framework of Merkle's Campaign COE methodology. The position may also have a small team of 2-3 direct reports.
This position is full time and permanent, offers excellent compensation and benefits, and is immediately available.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the subject matter expert on a client's campaigns throughout all phases of campaign solution implementation projects
- Advising the client on how to make the best use of the new marketing tools and functionality being implemented
- Leading campaign discovery efforts with the client
- Acting as the main interface between the client and internal Merkle teams to deliver on communicated campaign requirements
- Translating campaign requirements from a business perspective into technical requirements and vice versa
- Collaborating with technical team members on design, development, and testing of the campaigns in the new campaign solution
- Working together with database architects and business system analysts to ensure that data made available to the campaign solution is optimally structured for its intended marketing purpose
- Ensuring a positive outcome of the campaign implementation through application of best practices and by adhering to Merkle's campaign methodology, and by promptly and proactively resolving issues and reporting status to the project leadership
- Guiding the client in user acceptance testing
- Potentially this manager will lead a small team of 2-3 people
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Ability to translate campaign business requirements into technical requirements for campaign development and vice versa the ability to decipher campaign logic and deconstruct this into its component parts and explain the campaign in business language
- Hands-on experience with campaign management, orchestration, or activation software such as Adobe Campaign, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Unica, Redpoint, Alterian, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Responsys, or other
- Familiarity and experience with database marketing, digital marketing, CRM, or related fields and concepts, as well as marketing concepts such as customer journeys, cross- or omni-channel marketing, and offer management
- Familiarity and experience with the marketing campaign process, from strategic inception to application of marketing tactics, audience identification and targeting, activation, and measurement

Preferred Skills and Experience
- A background in campaign execution
- Familiarity with the Adobe Experience Cloud / Adobe Experience Platform product suite
- Experience with agile project methodology
- Team management experience
- Experience with scripting languages such as SQL or Javascript
- Familiarity with work queue management software such as Team Track, Aprimo, or Jira
- Knowledge of or familiarity with database concepts, structures, or architecture
- Knowledge of or familiarity with implementation or administration of campaign technologies
- An understanding of supporting processes in campaign management, such as for example CDI, data transfer, or data appends
Additional Information
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $94,000k-$152,375k. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
