Job Description

Part of Dentsu International, Dentsu Creative is a Global Creative Network that transforms brands and businesses through the power of Modern Creativity. Dentsu Creative was launched in June 2022 to address a client need for simplicity and will be Dentsu International’s sole creative network by the end of 2022.

Dentsu Creative Finance Internship Program

This program is designed to introduce financial professionals to the creative advertising industry. Candidates will have the ability to explore finance and accounting career paths by leveraging our finance network, senior mentors, technical hands-on experience, and access to company development tools.   

Role: Commercial Finance, Accounting, or FP&A intern

Time period: June 5, 2023 – August 11, 2023.

Hourly rate: $15 hour

Location: Remote (if in Chicago or New York market in-person dates for team building may be applicable)

Eligibility

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Enrolled in an accredited College/University and pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business degree
  • Must be eligible to work on a permanent basis in the United States

You will apply your classroom knowledge across the following finance disciplines:

Commercial Finance: Provides financial/commercial advice to ensure achievement of revenue and profit targets both in the short and long-term by identifying and addressing critical business issues.

Controllership: Deliver high quality financial reporting (management and statutory) to the Dentsu board and key stakeholders (Dentsu Inc and external auditors).  Provide analysis and actionable insight to senior Dentsu management on business performance.  Ensure group compliance with financial reporting, revenues and accounting standards.  Provide expert technical support to the business on accounting matters.  Support the business and other functions/ specialist finance areas.  To support the business in delivering and maintaining a high quality global financial reporting system.

Finance Leadership: This discipline comprises of business facing key roles in the function.  The roles have accountability for being the key partner / advisor for the business leaders on strategic finance priorities.  These roles have the oversight, and will leverage, multiple disciplines within the finance job family to deliver on the business goals.

Operational Finance: Delivery of effective finance transactional process with the right controls, improvements, reporting and operational insights to keep the business running

Risk & Audit: Our objective is to help safeguard the current and future economic value of Dentsu, primarily through undertaking reviews of key controls and also other projects such as fraud investigations and acquisition reviews.

Responsibilities can include

 

  • Exposure to client contracting, negotiation strategies, and pricing development
  • Assisting with annual, monthly, and quarterly budgeting forecasting
  • Learning company margin management
  • Creating budget and forecast templates
  • Assisting with monthly financial close and account reconciliations
  • Analyzing financial information to support company decision making
  • Providing support in the preparation of client pricing and staffing plans
  • Preparing and posting journal entries
  • Recommending process improvements
  • Reconciling Cash, Intercompany, and project balances
  • Monitoring job activity, prepare and assist with fee, and production reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Ad-Hoc reports and financial analysis

The anticipated salary range for this position is $15.00/hour. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
