Job Description

This role is 100% dedicated to the Marriott business, one of Dentsu Creative’s oldest and most important accounts.  

While an agency employee, the role is a hybrid role: you would function as part of the client’s organization; an ‘embed’ who essentially operates as a Marketing Director at Marriott. As such you would be responsible for driving specific brands and project assignments with the agency. 

You will report into the Senior Vice President at Dentsu Creative who leads the Marriott business, but with a ‘dotted line’ into the VP Marketing at Marriott, and you would join her team meetings and internal client discussions. More than most client leadership roles, this role requires being a real partner to the clients and an extension of their organization. However, to be clear your career management and career path will be the responsibility of Dentsu Creative, and we would work to find you options for progression within the agency when the this assignment finishes. 

A successful candidate will need to be a self-starter who is comfortable navigating a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, as they will be acting as part of both the client and the agency organizations, and need to regularly be able balance and prioritize workflow and communication with and between both. As an ‘embed’ who straddles two organizations, you will also need to provide honest and valuable counsel to the agency team about our delivery to Marriott and how we are perceived by the clients. 

The role is remote, with the option of working in Dentsu Creative’s offices. While a few of the clients are in NY, this role will require regular travel to Marriott’s HQ offices in Bethesda, Maryland for in-person meetings. 

You will need to manage client budgets and deliverables, show a passion for the brand and category, and champion strategically and creatively sharp work. 

  • Act as a primary day-to-day brand owner across several large-scale projects 

  • Manage the client & agency relationships daily  

  • Lead teams through strategic development, creative ideation, production, and flawless execution 

  • Anticipate project and/or client needs to always be one step ahead daily of what needs to be accomplished 

  • Lead and oversee all account operations as it relates to the business of the agency 

  • Identify client issues and work with the agency team & partners to provide solutions 

  • Collaborate with dentsu and other agency partners  

  • Create applicable development plans for direct reports 

  • Inspire agency and client confidence and seek opportunities to advance the client relationship 

  • Fuel agency culture and progress 

Qualifications

  • Account team leader/senior client advisor 
  • Project management expert 

  • 8 years of integrated agency account management experience

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $94,000 - $146,000. Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
