Job Description

As an integral part of the project management team the PD is a discipline leader, responsible for maintaining cross-capability relationships, team management, oversight, and development of PM resources in PM and Operational best practices. The PD drives the execution of portfolio of businesses and delivers creative and multifaceted engagements to the highest-level quality, acts as experienced leader on existing and new business engagements, and plays an instrumental role in ensuring the successful completion of the work - on time and budget - and according to internal processes and industry best practices. Responsibilities include: 

  • Demonstrate strategic approach to the management of timing, staffing and resourcing of multiple engagements or accounts, project level, SOW and inter-agency budgets for the delivery of more effective operational and organizational breakthroughs 

  • Work closely with the Client Finance, Account Management and Production departments to ensure the weekly tracking and management of budgets, and flag any necessary changes in scope to the client 

  • Drive projects to completion within scope, budget and timeframe with an eye on profitability 

  • Manage overall account health for their accounts and manages up any variances 

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the effective execution of integrated tactics, solving for issues within the project parameters using creative solutions 

  • Evaluate the input and ideas of creative, media and strategic planning relative to strategy and client preferences 

  • Define, manage, and mitigate risks on projects, taking a proactive approach to solve any issues before they come up, or manage as they arise 

  • Develop appropriate financial structure for new or existing high level complexity project or campaigns (for both project and retainer models) 

  • Determine with great accuracy financial forecasts and resource plans that map to those forecasts based on the agreed to scope of work  

  • Determine % completes for all projects - able to determine best course of action and recovery plans for at-risk projects 

  • Prepare an Engagement model that tracks online and offline activities, all integration points including outside vendors’ 

  • Prepare financial rollups for monthly meetings with attention to project activity by account 

  • Prepare materials for write offs, investments, etc. 

  • Attend monthly financial meetings and actively participate in the reviews of annual/project staffing plans, with focus on assessment of current and projected resources 

  • Train junior staff on PM workflow, tools, templates and agency processes 

  • Proactively manage resource needs by driving conversations on current and upcoming needs with resource management and discipline leads  

  • Partner with resource management and discipline leads to determine the appropriate resource structure for different types of projects ultimately driving toward efficient teams 

  • Motivate and influences cross-functional teams to achieve the highest standards of execution and quality 

  • Bring new ideas and industry best practices recommendations for senior leadership consideration 

  • Master and effectively manage timely escalation processes 

  • Participate in the preparation of new business deliverables and represent PM discipline in new business pitches 

  • Manage and mentor a team of 6-10 junior, mid and senior level PMs 

  • Manage $10+MM in business 

  • Must be client facing

Qualifications

  • Master the duties outlined in the APM, PM and SPM discipline roles and demonstrate expertise in managing strategy and integrated tactics across portfolio of businesses and in cross-agency setting 

  • Demonstrate strategic Project Management skills in organization, facilitation, attention to detail, negotiation, great interpersonal skills, and communication with short- and long-term business goals in mind 

  • Demonstrate ability to work with C-level executives internally and at the client 

  • Show experience and proficiency in structuring and executing large-scale (over $10 million) projects 

  • Apply ability to identify and manage project risks and solid change control experience 

  • Lead and educate on comprehensive advertising processes and best practices 

  • Lead and demand quality control standards 

  • Lead by example in a manner that mirrors the dentsu values 

  • Passionate about the discipline, the team, and the company 

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational and presentation skills 

  • Lead with intellect over ego 

Education: Bachelor’s degree 

Experience: 8-10 years PM or SPM experience (1-3 years in a leadership role) in integrated agency environment

The anticipated salary range for this position is $94,000 -- $146,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
