Job Description

The Director will be a dynamic team leader who can manage day-to-day strategic responsibilities across a highly complex brand. You’re able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent strategic workstreams and feel confident leading a wide range of project types and deliverables. You’re a natural collaborator who will partner with account, creative and media to drive work that impacts culture and business. You’re comfortable managing junior strategists and able to work with minimal oversight.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as one of the lead team members of the brand team alongside account and creative leads, ultimately assuring the quality of the strategic and creative products the team produces.
  • Leads and manages the day-to-day strategic needs across the account including but not limited to brand development and management, creative strategy and brief development, comms plan development, research design & analysis, POVs, creative guidance and support, thought leadership
  • Thinks pro-actively about strategic and creative possibilities beyond current projects with a clear understanding of short- and long-term opportunities.
  • Is the client and internal team go-to for intel and expertise on a complex industry and highly technical product areas
  • Guides and mentors junior team members in their development and delegates appropriately
  • Fosters strong relationships with senior level marketing clients and both in- and out-of-network agency partners

Qualifications

The basics:

  • 8+ years of work experience in an advertising, digital or media planning agency, including at least six years in brand strategy or account planning required

Proactive and prolific

  • You’re a self-starter and efficient in managing tasks on a tight deadline. You can quickly diagnose client needs and action polished deliverables to meet them

Can go from 10,000 ft to in the weeds

  • You’re endlessly curious and have a brain for retaining details. You love to dig into highly technical information without getting lost there – you can translate the details into the big picture

At home with complexity

  • You’re able to intake and interpret information from a variety of sources and craft insights and data into compelling narratives that move the business
  • Experience working on brands in complex industries preferred [B2B, financial services, healthcare, etc.] – gov’t or military would be ideal

A creative instigator

  • Making great work excites you. You love to come up with out-of-the box strategies and narratives that push teams to think of new solutions to old problems. And you’re passionate and engaged in helping sell that work to clients.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,000 - $174,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company’s incentive compensation plan is subject to change. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
