Job Description

Role Purpose

  • Develop, implement and optimize social media marketing strategy, managing a team of Associate Director, Social Media Strategists & Community Managers to deliver brand right social campaigns that deliver against predetermined KPIs.   
  • Along with Account Leads, owner of client relationship, especially client strategy team. Will need to develop strong, collaborative ways of working to regularly provide strategic guidance and points of view. 
  • “Oversees” and “does” – pushes work forward from the direct reports through iteration, adding of opportunities and identifying ways to make the work better.   
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging social media tactics and opportunities, including delivering on-time social insights to drive campaigns in partnerships with Content Lab, Creative & Influencer teams that deliver on company goals and that engage and excite a wider range of qualified consumers to the brand.   
  • Oversee social media campaigns (by channel), ensuring that all social media best practices and tactics are fully integrated into the annual master marketing plan, key brand initiatives, and seasonal campaigns.   
  • Collaborate and ideate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated social media marketing plans. Must be able to develop collaborative working relationship with creative leads to push the work to be better, more strategically sound, and culturally relevant.
  • Direct and implement proper controls to ensure that social media marketing initiatives are implemented in a timely manner, either meeting or exceeding brand expectations.  
  • Mentors and grows direct reports
  • Act a leader across the larger social department to impact team ways of working, processes, and goals.

  • Is able to work independently and manage up when necessary
  • Deep understanding of social analytics and how optimize social content accordingly
  • Can work with social strategists to identify cultural moments/trends worth activating again

  • Provides direction and gains compliance; includes direct reports in planning.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in and passion for the social space  
  • We’re looking for candidates who are excited by the internet, love that it’s ever-changing, and understand how to apply this to clients  
  • Entertainment, publishing or sport experience
    • We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about one (or all of the above spaces) 
  • Agency experience  
  • The ideal candidate will have acted as a day to day to lead on client business and has developed client relationships; 7-9 years’ experience 

Additional Information

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,000 - $198,500. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company’s incentive compensation plan is subject to change. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
