Senior Manager, OOH Media Buying

Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager is supervising and managing all OOH planning and buying activity for assigned accounts. It is the Senior Manager, OOH who oversees negotiations, quality control of media buys within client buying guidelines, monitors preliminary and final post buy delivery and tracking performance to ensure media buys meet client expectations. May include training and oversight of Sr. Associates and Associates.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Buying and Execution:
- Verify all plans/buys prior to submission to Planning/Account/Client teams
- Assist Sr. Associates/Associates, when necessary, with the planning and buying process
- Quality control against client guidelines
- Seek out innovative solutions to client, media objectives
- Act as the foundation to ensure the team is successful in the implementation of plans
- Ensure all deliverables are completed on time
Client & Internal Relationships:
- Liaison between the OOH team and the planning teams
- Work with Manager to advise clients on best ways to integrate OOH into their campaigns
- Grow business opportunities within current clients
- Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for junior staff
- Represent dentsu within industry (attending functions, joining local market committees, etc)
- Establishes and maintains interdepartmental relationships on behalf of the OOH team
- Represent OOH planning and buying expertise internally and externally
- Manage relationships with external client vendors
- Meet with clients as needed
Strategic Thinking & Leadership:
- Keeps current with market research (industry periodicals, email newsletters, websites).
- Discover opportunities and present to direct reports/team new ideas, relating to both a company perspective and industry perspective and how they might be implemented
- Provide guidance to team members nurture/promote team environment
- Ensure team is properly trained on all dentsu OOH tools and software
- Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary
- Implement key leadership decision quickly and efficiently
- Present alternative views to your Associate Director to ensure the team is challenged in though leadership
- Work with Associate Director to help develop a growth plan for direct reports
- React to the needs of the team and provide feedback to direct reports on any concerns
Communications Skills:
- Establish and maintain communications process with clients, media teams, etc. for each piece of business within the team
- Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
- Write in a clear, compelling, and concise manner
- Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
- Develop media presentation materials that are clear, compelling, and persuasive
- Adapt communication style to relevant audience
- Link communication to audience’s concerns and perspectives
- Lead client presentations
- Offer complete transparency to you Associate Director in all facets of your day-to-day work to ensure your team is achieving its best output
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years industry experience, including at least 1 year at the Manager level
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Media vendor negotiation experience
- Knowledge of standard OOH concepts and formats
- Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is $78,000-$110,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
