Job Description

The Associate assists in the coordination of the planning and buying process. As an entry level position, the Associate represents the start of a media career and is highly supervised by the Sr. Associate and Managers on the team.

This position is essential in the day-to-day tactical management of the media planning and buying and requires an individual that works well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment. While advanced Media thinking is not expected, the successful Associate is resourceful and demonstrates the initiative to participate in advanced projects.

The Associate position is training intensive. Aptitude for learning new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures is essential. The Associate is encouraged to contribute ideas and insights that will benefit our clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Buying and Execution:

  • Issue RFP requests to vendors
  • Coordinate and manage RFP responses to build plan recommendations and Power Point decks
  • Work within the ECOS tool; enter in ATBs, Contracts and mapping
  • Campaign Maintenance: Create production grids, posting instructions, trafficking, creative and putting together POP decks
  • Basic understanding of system and tools; ECOS, Telmar, Geopath, OCS, M1
  • Send out competitive requests
  • Assist Sr. Associate/Managers with discrepancy/billing resolution
  • Handle makegoods in accordance with client guidelines with supervision
  • Assist with revisions and maintenance of campaign plan recommendation
  • Maintain organization of client folders in the share drive and make sure all pertinent information is housed within
  • Keep Managers informed of workload

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Support team in preparing and delivering work to clients and colleagues within dentsu
  • Assists Sr. Associate/Managers in maintaining client budget levels
  • Attends all status meetings when appropriate
  • Manage relationships with external client vendors
  • May be responsible for informing team of new opportunities or issues
  • May participate and contribute in face-to-face client or vendor meetings
  • Engages with all work-related contacts in a professional & respectful manner
  • Possesses mature and professional business acumen in personal and written communications

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Keeps current with market research (industry periodicals, email newsletters, websites)
  • Demonstrates active listening skills and ability to apply learnings over time
  • Takes clear ownership of assigned tasks

 

Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
  • Writes in a clear, compelling, and concise manner
  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 0-2 years industry experience
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Strong interest in and familiarity with media buying
  • Desire to learn more about OOH media buying
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn server-based software and tools
  • Ability to work in a fast past environment and multi-tasking capabilities

  • Demonstrated passion and curiosity for Media Buying
  • Thorough understanding of the media buying process, media department and inter-department relationships
  • Proficient knowledge of Media Buying tools/software
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered ideas and solutions
  • Capable of developing and presenting error-free, compelling, persuasive, and innovative client data solutions
  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them
  • Participate in client calls, meetings, and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks
  • Leadership Capability

The anticipated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
