Senior Associate, National Video Investment

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Senior Associate is to negotiate cost efficient schedules on behalf of the clients.  Supported by the Associate, the Senior Associate coordinates all aspects of the video investment process. 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Video Investment and Execution: 

Prepare reports for clients on national accounts (Tracking, GRP, Posts)  

Ensure that DDS and GRP charts reflect most updated brand requirements 

Communication with networks regarding client’s scheduling  

Ensure that move requests have been requested and are being followed up on daily 

Organize all upfront information into summary documents (i.e. “Roll-Ups”) 

Analyze upfront plans, execute options and sell-off requests , negotiate scatter buys and prepare scatter buy recommendations 

Ensure that allocations match flighting/$’s/GRP requirements 

Prepare Monthly Spending Reports 

 

Client & Internal Relationships: 

Maintain special client related projects (i.e. Marketplace updates) 

Develop and maintain relationships with network sales executives 

Assist in managing expectations of clients and their deliverables 

Work with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff, manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhere to budget 

Keeps up with the latest trends in media, programming, and ratings 

Informs client/team of new opportunities or issues 

Participates and leads, if appropriate, face to face client meetings 

Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for associate level 

Strategic Thinking & Leadership: 

Develop and oversee Associates; conduct training, manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhere to budget   

Instruct and develop Associates knowledge of television media, negotiation skills and DDS programs  

May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents 

Works with management team (Supervisor/Group Director) to develop strategies for media buys 

Shares new and relevant advertising opportunities in written and verbal form to the media department 

Communications Skills: 

Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications 

Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner 

Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially 

Assists in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs 

Develops client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive 

Moves audience to desired action through clear and persuasive delivery of information 

Insures key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc. 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

Bachelor’s Degree 

1+ years of media buying experience, including at least 1 year at the Associate level 

Strong analytical skills  

Media vendor negotiation experience 

Working knowledge of DDS 

Knowledge of media research terminology 

Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Exceptional media skills – strategic thinking, introduction of initiative ideas/techniques, stellar negotiation, insightful analysis 

  • Well considered recommendations and arguments 

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously/Can perform as a leader with minimal supervision 

  • Exceptional leadership skills demonstrated through staff development and ownership of department/agency initiatives 

  • Ability to properly delegate tasks to staff to ensure appropriate utilization 

  • Successful staff management abilities with demonstrated interest in helping others to develop Video Investment and professional skills  

Additional Information

The anticipated Salary Range for the position is $39,000 - $60,000. Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job- related qualifications, and geography.
