Job Description

The Associate is supervised by the Associate Director and other media buyers.  The Associate is required support in the organization, implementation and maintenance of Direct Response media buys and campaigns.  The Assistant Media Buyer position is entry level and represents the start of a media career.

 

This position is important in the daily running of the media account and requires you to work well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment.   While advanced Media thinking is not expected, the successful Associate is motivated and shows the initiative to participate in advanced projects.

 

The Associate position is training-intensive.  Motivation for learning new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures is essential.  The Associate will contribute ideas and insights that will benefit our clients.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Media Buying and Execution:

·       Assist media buying staff with acquiring rates from TV and radio stations/rep firms

·       Send/Confirm receipt of media buys and revisions to stations

·       Enter client buys and post log times into various computer software systems

·       Assist buyers with schedule or traffic issues directly with vendors as they arise

·       Reconcile billing discrepancies

·       Interact with the traffic department to confirm creative is delivered to respective TV/radio stations in a timely manner

·       Assist buyers in monitoring weekly media clearance levels

·       Run and analyze various weekly reports for the buyers as directed

·       Develop a strong working knowledge of Mediaocean Netpak and Spotpak as well as Core Direct software systems

·       Participate in meetings with rep firms or TV/Radio stations

Client & Internal Relationships:

·       Work with buyers to help maintain client budget levels

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·       Bachelor’s Degree

·       0-1 year industry experience

·       Strong math and analytical skills

·       Strong interest and desire to learn about all forms of media

·       Skilled at MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

·       Possess excellent communication, mathematics and verbal skills

·       Strong personal, writing and organizational skills

·       Ability to multi-task

·       Familiarity with Mediaocean a definite plus

The target start date for this role is January 9, 2023. The anticipated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
