Job Description

We are looking for experienced and passionate data engineers to help solve our client’s most complex business problems utilizing marketing data to deliver modern solutions that scale. 

The Senior Google Analytics Engineer will build the foundational database architecture, integrations, pipelines, and datasets that will enable our team to perform analysis, create visualizations, and build models. We work with hundreds of brands across every vertical and look for individuals that can thrive working across multiple teams. An ideal candidate will have very strong technical skills and experience in the marketing domain - preferably web analytics or paid media. The tools of our trade are SQL and Python. We work across clouds and experience in Google Big Query, Microsoft Azure SQL DB / Synapse, Snowflake is essential. Data integration experience with platforms such as Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, and DataBricks is important. Experience in the digital data and analytic ecosystem including Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics is a major plus, as well as experience in working with data from marketing technology platforms such as Google Ads, Campaign Manager, and Facebook. Familiarity with R, and visualization environments such as Tableau, Looker, DOMO, or Power BI is beneficial.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as primary consultant to clients for data engineering services coordinating across other support and consultant roles
  • Collect client project requirements and create solution designs to solve for clients business and technical needs
  • Create datasets and views of data that will be consumed by teams of analysts and data scientists to support data mining, analytics, reporting, and dashboards
  • Develop, implement, and support methodologies, standards, documentation and tools for data management, considering innovation and data security at all times
  • Estimate projects involving data integration, data architecture, business analysis or application development and collaborate with sales and client success teams to grow accounts
  • Participate in product roadmap discussions and identifying key areas for improvement of products and services
  • Provide subject matter expertise on industry trends for database-related technologies
  • Ability to build cooperative, productive relationships with clients and vendors, have excellent communication skills, and interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Promote best practices and provide leadership to a team of developers and data engineers
  • Be actively engaged in the pursuit of advancing the company and team, acting as a self-starter and demonstrating proactive initiative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study (Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analysis, etc) with a minimum of 3-5 years experience with database development 
  • Can accommodate at least a 70% overlap of working time with North American teams and clients, based on central time zone (CT)
  • Advanced skills in SQL and Python
  • Experience with cloud / big data technologies such as BigQuery (preferred), Azure SQL DB/Synapse, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift
  • Deep knowledge of ETL tools and how they can be applied to a big data environment
  • Familiarity with analyzing digital marketing, advertising and ecommerce data
  • API expertise for Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, etc. is a plus
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Adobe Marketing Cloud or Google Analytics
  • Experience with building and maintaining DevOps workflows
  • Experience with optimizing BI or visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, DOMO or Power BI
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and Airflow
  • 3+ years experience in marketing technology/data/analytics roles
