Job Description

We are seeking a candidate with a strong accounting/finance background to join the Dentsu Americas Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team.  As part of the FAR team, the candidate will lead at a regional and local level ad-hoc financial analysis and process improvement initiatives, ensuring the data shared with key stakeholders is technically accurate, complete, and timely. In addition, the candidate is expected to provide sound and clear technical accounting guidance on any matter arising, particularly as it relates to financial reporting, policy, audit, transformation, M&A and budgeting/forecasting. This role will touch several areas of the greater Dentsu finance organization:

  • Ensure that financial reporting requirements are completed and delivered timely to DI Group Finance team, in compliance with IFRS and internal policy.
  • Identify and explain analytical variances and trends compared to prior period or expected amounts
  • Perform review controls and challenge our markets’ financial data submissions from a technical accounting perspective.
  • Respond to requests for information from the DI Group team in London, including queries ranging from regular financial reporting to technical or GL accounting analysis, as well as other ad-hoc requests for information.
  • Provide oversight and support to our market finance controllers as accounting and reporting challenges arise.
  • Guide our junior accounting staff. Participate in mentoring, and delegate projects.
  • Support technical accounting matters by performing initial research and draft accounting papers relating to implementation of new accounting standards or other strategic initiatives ad-hoc
  • Work with project leaders to support new system implementations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS degree in Accounting/Finance. Graduate degree an advantage.
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.  Big 4, M&A, or transformation experience an advantage.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to research guidance relating to (not limited to) purchase accounting, revenue recognition, and leases
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills across global cultures and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously, drive multiple projects simultaneously, and know when to escalate issues or ask for support
  • Well organized, meticulous with detail, and demonstrate an ability to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft office suite
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 and BPC an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Marketing Communications / Advertising Industry an advantage, not required

Additional information: 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $78,000-$121,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
