Senior Associate, OOH Media Buying

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Associate is to negotiate cost efficient plan recommendations on behalf of the clients. Supported by the Associate media planner/buyer, the Sr. Associate coordinates all aspects of the planning and buying process.

This position is essential in the day-to-day tactical management of the media planning and buying and requires an individual that works well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment. The successful Sr. Associate is resourceful and demonstrates the initiative to participate and lead in advanced projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Buying and Execution:

  • Negotiate cost efficient schedules on behalf of the clients
  • Coordinate all aspects of the planning and buying process
  • Campaign Maintenance: Create production grids, posting instructions, trafficking, creative and putting together POP decks
  • Work closely with vendors
  • Seek creative solutions to enhance buy product
  • Work within the ECOS tool; enter in ATBs, Contracts and mapping
  • Proficient understanding of system and tools; ECOS, Telmar, Geopath, OCS, M1
  • Send out competitive requests
  • Manage all discrepancy/billing resolution
  • Keep Managers informed of workload

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Manage expectations of clients and their deliverables
  • Grow business opportunities within current clients
  • Work with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff, manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhere to (within) client budget
  • Keeps up with the latest trends in media
  • Informs client/team of new opportunities or issues
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for assistant level
  • Attends all status meetings when appropriate
  • Manage relationships with external client vendors
  • May be responsible for informing team of new opportunities or issues
  • Participates and contributes in face-to-face client or vendor meetings

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Keeps current with market research (industry periodicals, email newsletters, websites)
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client/vendor issues, market landscape changes, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.
  • Provide guidance to team members nurture/promote team environment
  • Be curious on the strategic importance of OOH and how it impacts the wider media mix
  • Responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely post performance management documents
  • Works with management team (Manager/AMD/Media Director) to develop strategies for media buys

Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
  • Writes in a clear, compelling, and concise manner
  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • May assist in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs
  • Develop client reports that are clear, compelling, and persuasive
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ year of industry experience, including at least 1 year at the Associate/Assistant level
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Media vendor negotiation experience
  • Knowledge of standard OOH concepts and formats
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $39,000-$60,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
