Job Description

You are an integrated communication leader. You have a point of view, adding value to the process, your relationships and the final product. As the designated leader, you are able to help generate ideas based on insights and your knowledge of your client’s needs and the marketplace. You translate ideas into fully defined programs, working directly with and delegating projects to others on your team. You build relationships that facilitate the ability to sell remarkable work. You hold yourself accountable for ensuring smooth, accurate and efficient program launches. You know how to manage assignments creatively and effectively, making the best use of resources within and outside the agency. You are the day-to-day lead person on the account and a key point of contact for the client. Your job carries significant financial responsibilities. You actively maintain and grow strong mid and senior level client relationships. While you may perform some of the duties listed for the Account Manager, you do this with stronger strategic direction, increased client management, financial and leadership responsibilities. You fight for the work and recognize big ideas at early stages. You seek holistic campaigns, not just ads. You easily recognize and action new and organic growth opportunities. You think strategically, but can also apply this thinking and produce results. You understand the vision of the agency and lead the charge in this respect. You excel at mentoring and developing others and take on mentorship opportunities with ease and proactivity. You recognize how important it is to coach and support your team, providing opportunities and guidance that will drive both individual and overall agency success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Consistently push “big-idea” thinking, even when timing and budget may not allow
  • Identify opportunities for client(s) that support their business, brand and customer goals
  • Proactively “sell” to clients to secure additional revenue
  • Tap into the wider resources and skills within the agency to develop compelling solutions to client issues
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with agency teams and clients
  • Articulate/present concepts, strategies and/or plans with confidence, impact and persuasiveness
  • Support client retention and account growth
  • Manage multiple clients with excellence and meet all deadlines and deliverables on time
  • Ensure written documents and client presentations clearly articulate strategic vision
  • Build and lead cross-functional teams that are able to anticipate and deliver solutions to meet the client’s requirements
  • Demonstrate growing mastery of client profitability factors, including understanding of how solid account financials (e.g., the staffing plan for your confirmed budgets) translates into growth and profitability
  • Demonstrate a passion for and proficient knowledge of technology and emerging media
  • Demonstrate strong strategic ability
  • Conduct briefings for internal teams outlining specifics of project, business objectives, client strategy, requirements, budget and schedules
  • Utilize industry knowledge to lend new perspective to client’s and the agency’s business
  • Thrive in a fluid, entrepreneurial environment
  • Maintain high levels of motivation and morale within the team
  • Effectively balance time between the team, agency and client’s requirements
  • Take an active part in contributing to dentsu One’s culture

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in administration/communications/marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in similar role.
  • Experience leading and managing a cross-functional team.
  • Strong preference for auto experience, and/or retail experience.
  • Ability to articulate a strategic communications plan and develop recommendations to respond to client issues and needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in developing sustainable relationships with clients.
