Job Description

The Director, Media is the key media lead and business partner on one of Canada’s most iconic brands; A&W. An expert working knowledge of the media landscape with the ability to leverage relevant consumer and media data to lead media strategy for clients and internal teams. This role manages the account team resource to deliver on key client objectives, adhering to best practice in day-to-day projects and ensuring responsibility for financial deliverables. A team leader, the Director has proven ability to lead a team and various projects or clients, delivering innovative output and leveraging the best of their team and our dentsu capabilities.

As the Director, Media, you will work closely with our client partner to understand both long term objectives for the year ahead and short-term campaign needs. You will work with the Media Manager and relevant Media Planners and Buyers to lead annual strategic media recommendations, ongoing updates on media trends or landscape, provide guidance on best practice to your team and leadership in dentsu partnerships and offerings.

Key areas of responsibility & skills:

  • Leading client activity to deliver innovative and ambitious media plans that deliver client objectives and key performance indicators
  • Exceptional knowledge of omni channel media environment (traditional & digital)
  • Supports management team to ensure that the team are working to deliver best in market results
  • Liaises frequently with internal counterpart to ensure plans align with priorities and leveraging internal planning products when delivering planning solutions
  • Identifying business development opportunities
  • Supports and coaches the team to ensure that they work to their full potential
  • Brings performance focus to all media reporting and understanding KPIs and objectives met
  • Strong organizational skills and project management and communication skills
  • ·Analytically driven and Deadline focused

*1 year - fixed term contract position*

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Media, Advertising, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • 4+ years of media planning and/or buying experience focused on digital channels and a minimum of 2 years experience leading a team.
  • Ability to demonstrative creativity in negotiations and act as the conduit to media brands.
  • Must have experience with ad severing and media buying technologies
  • Experience with media buying technologies/platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, YouTube Ads, TikTok Ads, etc).
  • Experience with paid media campaign planning, buying, setup, ongoing optimization, measurement & testing.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficient with numbers and budgets to illustrate client business objectives.
  • Advanced level MS Office skills: Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s), Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Understands the digital landscape and has knowledge of paid social, search, programmatic, remarketing and other emerging technologies
