*This is a 100% Remote Position*

The Director, Operations is responsible for managing the tools, processes and systems on specific account(s) to ensure account(s) is operating in the most efficient and profitable manner. Operations Director will have a direct reporting line to MD of account(s) and dotted line into Head of Operations. They are the lead across several centralized teams that are instrumental in operations initiatives are functioning in the most efficient way to benefit both the client and the agency.   

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Strategic Thinking & Leadership 

  • Work closely with Head of Operations and Client Lead to formulate and propagate a continuous improvement methodology 

  • Outline and publish key performance metrics with stretch targets for improvement  

  • Automate and streamline workflow and processes to reduce resource time in areas of planning, buying, reporting, budget management, etc. 

  • Develop review cycles of processes and systems to identify areas for continued improvement 

  • Demonstrate advanced business skills in a proactive, decisive and logical manner 

  • Manage all operational aspects of client business divisions  

  • Partner with clients on operations goals and initiatives, both annual and ad hoc 

Reporting 

  • Support the team with preparing and maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting 

  • Ensure team is supported with strong automation, processes, always with an eye towards improvement and evolution 

  • Set clear direction, resolve obstacles and ensure a high-quality review process  

  • Work closely with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, Investment Directors, Planning and Financial Operations to ensure alignment with objectives/goals 

  • Oversee digital reporting platform and ensure all key stakeholders (Clients, Analytics, Planning, and Buying) have clarity on scope, roles and responsibilities, and are properly trained in using platform 

Identification and implementation of agency Best Practices 

  • Oversight of all operational aspects of the account – systems, processes, business requirements 

  • Focus on efficiency in training and client team utilization of standard tools (Planning/Buying) 

  • Development, ownership and implementation of the account operating manual  

  • Ensure client deliverables/requirements are understood and adhered to for all team members 

  • Develop and implement strategies for sustained operational excellence across the account(s) 

  • Establish and chair regular status meetings with client account team and clients 

  • Ability to collaborate across client and agency teams, and foster consensus and rapport across groups to achieve mutual goals 

Communications Skills 

  • Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications 

  • Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner 

  • Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially 

  • Develop reports that are clear, error-free and on-time 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field 

  • 10+ years of media agency experience or related field/role required

  • Advertising agency or professional services experience required

  • Experience and knowledge of business management, budgeting and internal operations, as well as client service requirements and relationship management 

  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office), experience with business systems for planning/billing 

  • Exposure to Media Tools and MediaOcean/DDS ability to learn new business software/databases such in developing environment/industry

  • Attended internal meetings regarding direction of the client relationship and commercial implications 

  • Initiated and led client calls 

  • Led company-wide initiative and provided updates at COG 

  • Led and owned all account operational intitiatives 

  • Regarded internally at Carat as a “go to person”  

  • Displayed sound business judgment internally 

  • Strong ability to manage crisis or red-flag situations 

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately elevates issues/problems 

  • Motivation to participate in agency development and new business 

  • Served as a Carat ambassador and demonstrates grace in challenging internal/external scenarios 

  • Excellent client feedback 

  • Team leader and POC for high level client personnel 

  • Led internal meetings regarding future direction of the account

For individuals assigned to and/or hired in Colorado, the anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000, which is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other job-related qualifications. Pay ranges in locations other than Colorado may differ based on labor market wage rates in those locations.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
