Job Description

Business consultants provide industry specific subject matter expertise to Merkle clients in order to analyze existing marketing processes and practices to identify areas for improvement and integration of best practices. Business consultants will interface with strategic partners across the  client organization to facilitate project prioritization, initiation and preparation. Business consultants work collaboratively across Data Management and Merkle service lines in order to propose and build optimal solutions to solve for our customer's key strategic marketing business and technology initiatives in the short term while also providing on-going growth and improvement opportunities for the future.

Business Consultants assess our client’s marketing goals and objectives, required functionality (if available) and the proposed engagement to understand the objective of the solution and ideate with cross functional teams in support of pre-sales and the solutioning process

Business Consultants drive the implementation of solution functionality by transforming client objectives into use cases and functional requirements while engaging with the client to prioritize implementation while balancing business results, trade-offs, risks and interdependencies

Business Consultants engage in solution evolution by collaborating with our client’s and cross functional teams in the identification and prioritization of enhancements, the injection of best practices and lessons learned to scale for the future

 

•Business Consultants be individuals with a natural ability to listen and translate information into understandable and actionable content.

•Work easily within a cross functional/matrixed environment with internal and external stakeholders. More Sr. Business consultants being more comfortable presenting to C-Level audiences.

•Have a strong foundation of key financial acumen related to solutioning and project implementations. Ability to provide input into contractual documentation (SOWs, Change Orders, RFPs)

•Have a curiosity that drives them to constantly seek and learn new information from all reliable sources and when applicable disseminate it to others easily.

•Be comfortable acting as a liaison and/or “subject matter expert” to the client, third-party vendors, and multi-disciplinary teams within Merkle to Support the solution delivery process and exceed client expectations.

•Strong written communication skills as well as strong presenter. Someone comfortable with creating presentations that effectively communicate the message/topic tailored for the audience. Adjusting content as needed for different audiences.

•Someone who seeks and is open to others input with the goal to ultimately deliver the best product for the project.

•A self-driven, organized individual that has strong time management skills allowing them to manage multiple key activities at the same time.

•Has ability to manage conflict or varying opinions to an agreeable and viable solution.

•Builds strong client management relationships enabling open and honest communications related to projects such as scope, risks, impacts.

•Focuses on business processes overall supported by detailed activities and teams.

•Ability to understand the details but ensures overall business value is delivered in a timely manner for the client (could be agile, CI/CD approach)

•Ability to synthesize complex and sometimes contradictory information into concise, readable, unambiguous written requirements at multiple levels of detail.

•Ensures solution acceptance with external and internal partners. Owns the enablement of a smooth transition for all of your teams' projects of the solution in production, working with internal team members, end users, and supporting  change requests with the broader team using a defined change management process

Qualifications

•A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, information systems or related field.

•A minimum of 10 years experience in business acumen or a related field.

•Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

•The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

•Advanced technical skills.

•Excellent documentation skills.

•Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

•Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

•A track record of following through on commitments.

•Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

•Experience leading and developing top performing teams.

•A history of leading and supporting successful projects.
