Job Description

DEG, a Merkle Company is seeking a QA Tester/Analyst to enforce software quality standards across the entirety of the organization’s offerings.  The preferred candidate has experience working on software development projects and is comfortable implementing, utilizing and documenting formal test processes.  This position requires the ability to balance priorities, work cooperatively with cross functional teams and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.   

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate software testing process activities, implement testing best practices, and conduct continual quality assurance reviews. 
  • Ensure overall software quality through implementation of comprehensive QA process framework, procedures, policies and standards. 
  • Responsible for unit testing, regression testing, and system testing.
  • Develop, design and implement test requirements, test schedules, test cases, test plans, test tools, and test scripts. 
  • Perform manual and automated testing of software applications.
  • Create comprehensive testing procedures, checklists, checkpoints, and bug/enhancement/issue tracking processes.
  • Validate production code releases.
  • Attend internal and external project meetings to understand functional requirements and contribute to project definition, as necessary.
  • Prioritize testing procedures based on business deadlines. 
  • Communicate effectively with business units, development teams, and project management to facilitate and ensure functionality of unique accounts. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience with Quality Center or Test Director.
  • 4+ years of full testing lifecycle experience to include system software testing (writing test plans and detailed test cases), and planning and executing test activities. Software testing experience in an Agile development environment.
  • Ability to work quickly with attention to detail. 
  • Independent decision making and good judgment.
  • Ability to operate comfortably in a multi-priority and multiple project environment.
  • Aptitude to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
  • Experience with other web related technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and XML.
  • The following are preferred qualifications:
  • Cross-browser testing experience.
  • Working knowledge of common SDLC including Rational, Agile, Extreme and Heuristic methodologies.
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

For individuals assigned to and/or hired in Colorado, the anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000, which is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other job-related qualifications. Pay ranges in locations other than Colorado may differ based on labor market wage rates in those locations.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
