Job Description

We are looking for a Director, Learning & Development to lead our Learning and Development activities in Canada. This role reports to a North American Center of Excellence for Learning and development and works with the Canadian business leaders and HR team to develop and implement programs in Canada.   

As the Director, Learning and Development you will: 

  • Work with the HR business Partners to assess the learning needs across the different lines of business. 
  • Lead and manage the employee review cycle with the HR Business Partners.  
  • Activate dentsu's Career Framework in Canada.  
  • Implement and oversee many programs simultaneously across our company.  
  • Facilitate workshops and learning development 
  • Source and manage centralized internal resources and/or outside suppliers 
  • Envision new ways of upskilling our people and providing engaging learning experiences 
  • Measure and report on program engagement and effectiveness. 
  • Lead employee engagement survey activity including analysis and presentation of results with business leaders.  
  • Support the onboarding team with relevant learning opportunities.  

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, implementing, and reporting on talent development programs, including formal/informal and development at the individual, team and organizational level.  
  • Process driven, with strong project management skills: ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks, and handle a range of projects simultaneously within a high-pressure, dynamic environment. 
  • Passion, knowledge and application of talent development, change management concepts, tools and methods, and leadership and talent management principles and processes.  
  • Exceptional digital, written, and verbal communication; ability to communicate in a well-organized and concise manner both in one-on-one and group settings. 
  • An enthusiastic and committed attitude, flexible problem-solver, open to participate and promote change within the organization. 
  • Self-starter with ability to think independently and work autonomously when necessary and a desire to succeed among fellow professionals. 
  • Skilled in relationship building and coaching/training others, and the ability to manage different groups and personalities to achieve consensus. 
  • Ability to deliver training in a workshop or web-based delivery medium. Comfortable with technology. 
  • Know how to setup, report, and manage learning content in the LMS as appropriate. 

Work Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • 5+ years’ experience in the learning and development industry-leading change, delivering successful client engagement, and achieving results.  
  • Experience with assessments and debriefing senior leaders. 
  • Experience in a large, fast-paced, complex, global company
