Job Description

As a Associate Director, Media Science, you will directly advise 360i clients, and cross craft with 360i media teams and account leadership to formulate profitable marketing programs and innovate marketing growth measurements.

The candidate must have extensive experience in building econometrics models with marketing and sales data. The ideal candidate for this role has passion for both mathematical statistics, as well as marketing and media strategy. Technically, the role’s day to day is to design multivariate statistical analysis, time series analysis, and statistical design of experiments. Strategically and operationally, the role is to translate mathematical statistics into clear, compelling, and actionable marketing and media strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build, review, and present marketing econometrics models
  • Present to clients, with the support of the functional specialists, the results of analyses and research projects in a clear and insightful narrative, digestible by a lay person
  • Collaborate with marketing partners and strategy teams to understand business and marketing objectives and develop analytics approaches to meet those objectives
  • Work with third party research/analytics vendors to design and set up projects for clients
    • The role requires to not only build models but partner with the agency’s and clients’ marketing analytics or consumer insights vendors to drive unified and integrated analytics solution
  • Lead understanding of consumer and marketplace behaviors, particularly those that most impact business and marketing goals; experience in developing go to market or customer strategy framework, using game theory principles and market/consumer sizing modeling is a plus but not required
  • Run hands-on multivariate regression model, including:
    • The applying necessary statistical transformations and ad-stocking of paid media variables
      • Familiar or have passion to test various cumulative distribution function (cumulation of probability density functions) to understand how different media channel, brand, and economic factors impact consumers’ purchase intent
    • Understanding and correct evaluation of key parameters/metrics within regression studies, such as mean square error (MSE), standard error (SE), t statistic, p-value, R-squared, MAPE, VIF
  • Familiar or have passion for different type of regression, i.e., Ordinary least squares, partial least squares, autoregressive, vector error correction, dynamic linear model (state space approach), multilevel model (hierarchical, random effects),

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in business or marketing analytics and/or holds a graduate degree in a quantitative field, i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research
  • 2+ years of client services with business problems around marketing and analytics
  • Proven experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, both technical, i.e., data engineers, and non-technical, i.e., media managers
  • 2+ years of hands-on working experience in Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) or models like MMM (Ideal but not required)
  • Expert knowledge of multivariate regression analysis and passion for advanced times series analysis

Software/Skills Desired:

  •  Proficient in in advanced MS Excel functions
  • Proficient with either R or Python
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with media performance metrics, i.e., CPM, brand lift, acquisition, reach, frequency
