Job Description

This position will support all components of the client and vendor contracts life cycle for the dentsu Operations team under the supervision of the Operations Director for contracts. The Contracts Administrator acts as liaison to all dentsu Media capability departments to ensure that a contract will meet the needs of our ever-evolving media business, working closely with counterparts in finance and dentsu legal.  The Contracts Administrator will play a critical role in helping project manage agreements with a wide variety of vendors (e.g., media companies, SEO vendors, media technology companies). Within the Operations team, this position will support longer-term Agency initiatives/projects; these activities are undertaken and executed in support of organizational goals and are accountable for providing business process solutions to meet expectations of the SVP of Operations.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a resource for dentsu media and capability team inquiries about governing terms of their vendor agreements
  2. Negotiate and redline contracts to ensure they align with dentsu and client priorities
  3. Analyze potential risks that contract changes may pose to the organization and our clients
  4. Work with different levels of personnel within dentsu to analyze terms of contracts and apply meaningful solutions to cure differing Agency, Vendor, or Client points of view
  5. Serve as a liaison and shepherd between internal media business partners, dentsu legal team, and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages
  6. Lead internal audits on performance media vendors to help consolidate partnerships and renegotiate new streamlined agreements
  7. Develop and maintain language standards and rules for existing and new contracts
  8. Revise vendor agreements and client scopes to align with governing master services agreement requirements and agency branding guidelines
  9. Support the development of a centralized contracts repository/dashboard and optimize internal review processes
  10. Up to 20% of time will be dedicated to departmental projects and initiatives to improve business processes for dentsu Media’s 2,500-person organization
  11. Additional responsibilities and ad hoc projects as delegated by the SVP of Operations and Director

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of contract management, procurement, or operations experience in the advertising industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with IAB terms and agency insertion orders
  • Proven work experience in business affairs, legal, contract management or relevant role
  • Attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
  • Excellent reading and language comprehension
  • Ability to read documents, distill key details, and summarize business consequences
  • Familiarity and comfort with advertising agency/media agency business terms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, independent self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems using all resources as their disposal
  • Strong organizational skills (particularly document management)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly in Word and SharePoint
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities simultaneously
