Job Description

The Employee Relations Partner plays an integral role within the Human Resources department and as part of the Employee Relations team by developing and deploying effective people-related strategies throughout dentsu’s many faceted and diverse organization. This exciting role is part of an essential function that helps to optimize the employment experience of all employees by, among other activities, working with Human Resources and the Company’s service lines and functions to help employees reach their professional potential in a fair, equitable, and respectful environment. This role necessarily impacts all of aspects of the organization by working with, and helping to develop, Human Resources professionals and people managers, partnering with a variety of functions, such as Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to help the organization to achieve its goals.

  • Apply employee and labor relations expertise to successfully identify trends, gaps, and challenges; develop, recommend and execute solution-focused strategies and programs to enhance employee experience and mitigate risks
  • Use surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, make recommendations on changes
  • Research and explain laws and legal issues concerning employment to Human Resources, managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Advise and train managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor opportunities and employee grievances. Develop further training as needed
  • Proactively assess team, manager, and organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Provide data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs, highlighting key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions
  • Integrate and partner with colleagues including Business Facing HR, HR Operations, Legal & Compliance, Training Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and other teams to implement solutions and help grow the business
  • Provide advice and counsel regarding performance management, employee behavior and discipline, and the development of, and compliance with, employment-related policies and procedures
  • Advise on internal and external employee/employment – related communications
  • Partner closely with HR and leadership on strategy and execution of the Employee Relations function in alignment with the organization’s Americas and global strategy
  • Participate and lead projects as an integral member of the extended HR community
  • Provide strategic Employee Relations support, business partnership, thought partnership, and coaching to all levels of the organization
  • Conduct investigations, advise on, and collaborate, to resolve complaints and other Employee Relations issues 
  • Analyze information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include review of union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other related circumstances
  • Represent organization in contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations, as needed
  • Train and oversee the work of assigned to staff and provide timely and constructive input to performance evaluations on the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in employee/labor relations or labor/employment law
  • Degree/Certification in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Experience in professional human resource administration preferred
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to quickly connect with people across a wide variety of backgrounds and drive an inclusive work environment
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Ability to remain respectful and persuasive in difficult, controversial and/or confrontational situations.  Maintain a high degree of professionalism and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action.  Proficient in MS Office programs (including Excel).  Ability to manage projects and crisis situations when they arise
  • Ability to identify training needs and to develop and deliver training
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Physical Requirements:

    ·        Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
