Job Description

We are looking for an Analytics Implementation Engineer to join our team.  As an Engineer, you will be responsible for implementation of Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target.  This engineer will translate business requirements into implementations using a combination of custom JavaScript, data layer objects, Adobe Launch properties configuration and applicable integrations with both in-house and 3rd party data systems.

 

This role sits at the center of the marketing technology platform and data management.  The Engineer’s mission is to help ensure our Clients are successful achieving their business and/or marketing goals by providing technical leadership and development-oriented solutions.  The role requires strong engineering skills solutions consulting capabilities, keen handle on analytics and data driven marketing, strong technical chops and ability to become an expert on Clients marketing technology stack.

 

The Engineer will:

  • Serve as the primary implementation developer/subject matter expert for the Client’s Analytics platform, data collection and integrations
  • Work with the Client’s Analytics & Engineering teams to:
    • assess and advise on Client’s needs
    • create tagging strategy
    • develop specifications to implement Client requirements
    • deployment
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams on implementation of solution, including guidance on data layer implementation and troubleshooting, data feeds and integrations with other systems

·       Perform audits and evaluations of Clients technology implementation with a keen focus on data collection

·       Proactively maintain implementation documents such as Data Layer specifications, custom JavaScript, etc.

  • Proactively maintain and upkeep Clients technical specifications (including Client’s knowledgebase)
  • Conduct and/or coordinate troubleshooting, testing, and validation of analytics implementations using various testing tools to ensure high analytics data quality

·       Clearly and proactively communicate status of development items and lead development and deployments of measurement solutions

  • Respond to and resolve a wide range of customer inquiries from basic education to technical operations
  • Proactively collaborate across Merkle with Analytics, Data Management, Client Services to orchestrate solutions that support Client needs
  • As required, contribute to Quarterly Business Reviews with key Clients
  • Drive ongoing Client success and satisfaction
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

 

Client Service & Portfolio Enablement:

·       Demonstrate dedication to Merkle’s philosophy of Client service

·       Lead client questions and requests, solving technical problems and providing mentorship involving technical and business knowledge

·       Work closely with engagement leadership to develop and grow engagements

·       Facilitate dialogue between Client and 3rd party vendor contacts

 

Practice Support & Development:

·       Drive thought leadership on how we deliver premier solution services

·       Author process documentation and add to internal knowledge base

·       Cross-train colleagues on instrumentation methodologies

·       Evaluate new tools as they relate to web analytics, data management, optimization, tag management, and reporting platforms

 

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have 3-5 years of working knowledge and a strong understanding of JavaScript, DOM manipulation, web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
  • 3+ years of Analytics/Target Implementation experience using Tag Manager tools on customer facing multi-national/global web applications
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical capabilities within a tag management solution like Adobe Launch, DTM, or Google Tag Manager
  • Experience in quality checking analytics and 3rd party tags using developer tools such as Fiddler, Charles, or Chrome Dev tools

 

Additional experience you may have:

  • Experience in data mapping and quality audit strategies

·       Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and/or Google Marketing Platform (GMP)

  • Experience in Web Services and API development

·       Experience with web optimization technologies and analytics solutions

·       Experience with data capture / tag management platforms (Adobe DTM, Adobe Launch, Ensighten, Tealium, GTM or other)

·       Experience with Data Management and Customer Data Platforms (Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce, Lytics, Tealium, etc.)

·       Expert level knowledge of web user experience methodologies and web technologies
