Job Description

As an ICUC Social Media Strategist your day to day focus will be:

  • Manage presence in social networking sites with a heavy emphasis on Linkedin and Twitter
  • Responsible for daily community engagement, including listening and monitoring
  • Assume the voice of the brand(s) when posting across all social networks
  • Grow organic communities and engagement
  • Manage and publish a social content calendar
  • Support the development of the global social media content strategy with the client’s social strategists and marketers
  • Research and proactively escalate observations, opportunities, and insights for relevant channels
  • Work with our reporting team to prepare weekly/monthly reports on predetermined metrics
  • Maintain current knowledge of the evolving social media space, ensuring best practices and thought leadership are shared with clients when appropriate
  • Lead meetings, be it weekly, monthly, quarterly, report-specific, etc.
  • Provide superior customer service for all aspects of online community management (e.g. product issues and feedback, issues with social tools, etc.)
  • Go above and beyond client and company expectations, bringing fresh and new ideas to leaders and always questioning the status quo
  • Evaluate, moderate and report on clients’ current social media activities through social data

As an ICUC Social Media Strategist you will:

  • Maintain an active presence within necessary tools to discuss questions and issues that may arise from creative
  • Be able to advise clients on platform-specific concerns, abilities and best practices
  • Regularly maintain and use social media publishing platforms, Facebook Power Editor, Instagram and all native publishing tools
  • Advise client and provide data-driven research in the planning and execution of social campaigns
  • Provide guidance on possible areas of creative content such as trending hashtags and events
  • Proactively provide the client with thought leadership, best practice recommendations and data-driven insights to help advance their social presence
  • Liaise with reporting team to ensure client requested reports provide deep insights and quality recommendations which go beyond a simple metrics report
  • Help identify influencers and seek user-generated content

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Adverting, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in social media: social media strategy, community management, or equal enterprise marketing experience.
  • Media Agency experience is considered a asset.
  • Experience using social channels: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, SnapChat, or Tik Tok.
  • Experience in Social Media Management Systems like Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Background in creating social content and writing copy, analyzing performance, and adjusting strategy for results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with creative content publishing & writing.
  • Knowledgeable of past and current social media trends.
  • Experience creating social media playbooks, slide decks, content calendars and presentations.
  • Plan, prioritize, monitor, and respond to changes quickly.
