Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) to join our AdTech tribe. Contribute to the creation of our next-generation platform, that helps our partners - such as restaurants but also local shops - to scale their business. Work on our internal AdTech platform that helps our partners to promote their best dishes and attract new clients. If you're a creative problem solver who is eager to deliver solutions and hungry for a new adventure, an international workplace is waiting for you in the heart of Berlin!

AdTech tribe is a geographically distributed tribe of 16+ squads. We are here to build high-available advertisement solutions for the local delivery market. Our solutions are helping our vendors to attract and retain clients as well as helping users of our platforms to open new tastes and find new favorite dishes. Our solutions are running globally from LATAM to APAC and serving out clients via mobile and web applications. We deploy often and move quickly with self-sufficient cross-functional squads that work collaboratively according to the “we build it, we run it” principle. We optimize our solutions for high load and high reliability, high availability and low latency. We leverage microservices architecture principles and patterns, micro-frontends, inner-sourcing, batch and streaming data processing.

Ads Data Platform is on a mission to build a next generation cutting-edge real-time data processing platform. This platform is designed to handle billions of user-generated data points, driving various critical functions from revenue generation and vendor metrics to powering machine learning models.

  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to understand stakeholder needs and translate them into well-scoped technical solutions

  • Participate in cross-team architecture discussions, contribute domain expertise, and help evaluate design trade-offs for platform components

  • Lead by example on engineering quality — code reviews, testing standards, documentation, and incident response

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable components for the Data Platform, including real-time streaming pipelines, batch processing workflows, and data infrastructure integrations

  • Build and maintain critical data infrastructure: storage layers, data governance tooling, pipeline observability, and warehouse integrations

  • Contribute to the technical roadmap by identifying improvement areas, flagging performance bottlenecks, and proposing pragmatic solutions with clear trade-offs.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience building and delivering software solutions, including distributed systems based on microservices, API- and event-based communication, and data processing covering both streaming and batch workloads
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages like Java/Python/Go for building data-intensive applications and pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience with stream processing frameworks like Apache Flink or Apache Spark and message brokers like Apache Kafka, including production-grade deployments (state management, exactly-once semantics, backpressure handling).

  • Experience with various OLTP & OLAP storage systems such as Clickhouse, PostgreSQL etc.

  • Extensive experience with cloud-based data ecosystems such as AWS (S3, Kinesis, DynamoDB) and GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)

  • Familiar with common logging, monitoring, alerting tools such as Grafana, Datadog, NewRelic, Prometheus, etc.

  • Ability to lead and drive technical initiatives across multiple teams, and significant and proven experience building and delivering solutions at scale.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud cost optimisation, particularly around compute and storage trade-offs in data pipelines

  • Familiarity with data governance concepts — cataloguing, lineage tracking, access control

  • Experience with dbt or semantic/metric layer tooling for downstream data modelling.
