Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial Law & Intellectual Property to join the Legal Team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

In the Legal Team, you’ll support key initiatives by providing proactive legal guidance that aligns business goals with legal and regulatory standards. Your work will help mitigate risks and ensure we’re positioned for sustainable, long-term success—making you a key contributor to our mission of delivering amazing experiences worldwide.
As a Senior Legal Counsel of Commercial Law and IP within Delivery Hero’s HQ in Berlin you will take primary responsibility for a broad range of legal and regulatory matters pertaining to the areas of commercial, IT, IP and unfair competition law as well as the regulation of online platform businesses. Amongst other things, you will:
Advise, together with relevant business stakeholders, on complex commercial transactions as well as high profile investigation, litigation and arbitration proceedings in different jurisdictions worldwide;
Offer product counseling services as well as advice on platform regulation initiatives in different jurisdictions worldwide and support multiple operational functions and our management in exploring new business opportunities and strategic partnerships;
Contribute to the development of Delivery Hero's intellectual property strategy to protect our IP assets across a diverse range of products and services, including online food and grocery ordering, logistics services, cloud kitchens, fintech and software development;
Help managing our sizable trademark and domain portfolios and execute trademark enforcement activities across multiple brands and markets;
Advise on all IP and IT aspects of M&A transactions and support Delivery Hero in relation to post-merger integration and separation activities;
Play a key role in designing and implementing scalable legal operations initiatives and support the harmonization of our internal legal processes across our 65+ markets, as we continue to scale globally and focus on innovation in tooling and technology (incl. the use of AI).
Qualifications
- You are fully qualified to practice law in Germany (Volljurist) and bring 6+ years of post-qualification experience within a reputable law firm and/or as in-house counsel in an international environment.
- You have a proven track record of overseeing complex legal projects, managing (senior) stakeholders across various business functions, and are self-motivated with a strong ability to think outside the box.
- You possess proven experience in managing complex contract negotiations end-to-end and have advised on M&A and due diligence projects.
- You have experience managing large trademark portfolios, along with a passion for transformation, legal operations, and building efficient legal workflows across different entities and markets.
- You are highly proficient in preparing structured and impactful Google Slides/PowerPoint presentations.
- You are open to international travel on short notice if necessary (not exceeding 10% of your annual working time).
