Job Description

Your Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Group Risk & Compliance team.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in the operational oversight of regulatory compliance across Cuscal, with a focus on regulatory obligation management, compliance assurance, regulatory change and financial product compliance.

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Supporting the ongoing management of Cuscal’s compliance framework and risk and compliance system
  • Maintaining key compliance registers, monitoring plans, training plans and consolidated compliance reporting
  • Developing and reviewing compliance policies, standards and guidance
  • Performing compliance reviews and control assurance activities to assess adherence to key regulatory obligations
  • Proactively monitoring emerging regulatory and legislative change, assessing potential impacts and recommending appropriate actions
  • Providing stakeholders with updates and guidance on regulatory developments across APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, OAIC and DIA requirements
  • Supporting regulatory certifications, reporting and engagement
  • Overseeing the risk and compliance training calendar and contributing to the design of compliance training programs
  • Supporting audit activities and responses to external information requests
  • Providing regular and ad hoc compliance reporting and analysis to management.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

You’re an experienced compliance professional with a strong understanding of the Australian financial services regulatory landscape and the ability to turn complex obligations into practical guidance.

You’re comfortable working autonomously, have strong judgement and attention to detail and can build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. 

You’ll also bring:

  • Extensive compliance or regulatory experience within the Australian financial services or payment services industry 
  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting and managing financial service obligations
  • A strong understanding of compliance management principles, structures and processes
  • Experience designing and implementing effective compliance management frameworks within financial services
  • Knowledge of APRA standards and requirements for operating as an ADI
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, the Privacy Act and AFSL requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when communicating regulatory obligations and emerging regulatory changes
  • The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and exercise sound judgement
