Job Description

Crown is looking for Fiber Optics Technicians who will travel 100% of the time and work Monday - Thursday of each to provide assistance in the installation of inner duct and fiber optics cable around airport runways, taxiways, and terminals. 

  • Tasks include but not limited to handling fiber optics and inner duct cables without damage, managing large cable reels, lubricating cables as they enter the manhole, and assisting in the overall safety procedures.
  • Directions and instructions will be provided on site by team lead and Engineer
  • Must have a basic understanding of the use of manual and power tools, and test equipment, such as multimeter, ohmmeter, power meter, oscilloscope, etc., and must be able to enter manholes and work in confined spaces.
  • Must have the ability to independently recognize problems/issues
    encountered during installations, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to
    complete the project.

Schedule: Mon-Thur (40 hours a week) usually. This can change based on the needs of the airport. The schedule could also be 8 days on then 6 days off. 

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred 
  • Required to work in a high risk environment with active passenger aircraft movement nearby
  • Able to occasionally perform assigned work under severe time restraints
