Job Description

The Assembly/Rack Fabrication Technician fabricates, assembles, and performs testing procedures, which includes creating radio communication racks, and sends out shipments of various types of rack configurations. The Technician will work with other team members to assist in ensuring that projects are correct and schedules are met in a timely fashion for shipments to the client. The Technician will be responsible for both mechanical hardware assembly and electronic assembly, and will be responsible for movement and storage. Repetitive heavy lifting will be required. The work of the Technician is reviewed for technical adequacy and conformity with instructions. 

Associated responsibilities can also include all the major subassemblies required to manufacture any of the 20 major radio racks produced at the Ontario facility. 

The Technician may prepare Test Box enclosures for assembly, cable assemblies with connectors, drilling, soldering, assembling and testing of the completed Test Box, and assembling and wiring of the MDF.

Work Hours: Mon-Thu 6AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and at least one (1) year of mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Understanding of minor electrical circuits
  • Ability to read assembly diagrams
  • Experience with: drill press, rivet machine, band saw, pliers, cutters, vice grips, soldering iron, terminating hand tool, heat gun, hand screw driver, electric screw driver, and wire strippers
  • Ability to test wire assemblies using supplied documentation and continuity verification test equipment and perform quality check assemblies
  • Ability to cart around racks that weigh 300+ lbs and be able to lift 75 lbs of equipment
  • Be self motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
