Job Description

Crown is hiring Electronics Maintenance Technicians to maintain and logistically support a number of NOAA Weather Radios (NWR) in a geographic area within a pre-defined radius.  The radios provide information on weather conditions and are required to provide a reliable service to the public, with a high availability. The Electronics Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all maintenance, preventive and corrective, as well as the logistical support of the radios and ancillary equipment at the site where the radios are located.  This must be done in accordance with criteria defined by the National Weather Service (NWS) in orders, SOPs, SLAs (service level agreements), and other NWS requirements. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Maintain and sustain VHF and/or UHF radios to a high availability (>95%).
  • Travel to remote sites and work independently to perform preventive and/or corrective maintenance on radios.
  • Perform diagnostic testing on radios, quickly identify the source(s) of degraded radio performance and restore the radio to full operating capability.
  • Use test equipment for the purpose of routine maintenance checks, or in the course of restoring a radio whose performance has degraded to full operating capability.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.    
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.


DESIRED:

  • Prior maintenance or logistics support experience with the NWR.
