Job Description

The support includes the FAA office of Spectrum Engineering Services in the FAA Technical Operations organization. The project team will assist this group's mission in managing radio frequency (RF) allocation and approval for all FAA operational (NAS) systems. The PM will oversee a team of 20 staff directly supporting the customer at the FAA's Washington DC Headquarters.

Responsibilities will include oversight of all ongoing projects and tasks; resource planning; customer communications and reporting; planning and execution of new tasking focused on spectrum engineering projects and any software systems used to support the engineering tasks; performance management and process improvement; oversight of deliverable quality, including presentations, reports, analysis, etc.

Qualifications

  • 10 years relevant experience in a project management/leadership role.
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering field is preferred.
  • PMP (Active) or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of FAA and the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of RF spectrum management is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the following systems is advantageous: AFM, ESVMS, RadHaz tool, WebFTA, WebFCR, SBIT.
  • Experience developing models for spectrum allocation and Electromagnetic Compatibility analysis is desired.
  • Must be able to attain a Public Trust approval via background check.
