Job Description

Recent graduates: Crown is seeking to recruit software developers and senior engineers (multiple positions based on seniority & experience) to participate in big data analytics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning projects. The candidate will work with a team of highly motivated software developers and aviation researchers that is central to the research undertaken by NASA’s Aviation Systems Division and NARI (National Aeronautics Research Institute). Experience with ATM (Air Traffic Management) desirable.

Software developer/engineer tasks:

  • Participate in data analysis, system modeling and initial review of appropriate software architecture working with project architect and other team members
  • Develop data analytics pipeline and customize AI/ML/NLP (natural language processing) algorithms for achieving end results 
  • Configure and customize off-the-shelf algorithms/libraries to be used in project prototypes, deployed in cloud sandbox environments
  • Responsible for developing integration, custom software modules, and relevant documentation for project-specific deliverables
  • Works with project manager to provide timely updates and deliverables

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree, or Ph.D. in Aerospace or electrical engineering or computer science, and at least 4-5 years of hands-on coding experience 
  • Experience working with coding languages such as Java or Python or C++, and proficient in software engineering
  • Experience in software design practices working with big data, SQL, or no-SQL (Hadoop, Spark) technologies
  • Experience with Natural Language processing tools/framework is required
  • Comfortable working in a cloud development environment (like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure)
  • A willingness to learn and remain agile in a dynamic environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of custom software
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with team members
  • Knowledge of Air Traffic Management System desirable
