Job Description

Project Manager (PM) supporting the acquisition, implementation, and management of the Emergency Notification System (ENS) supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position will become part of a team supporting the ENS deployment FAA wide under the FAA’s Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH).

The PM will lead a team individuals supporting the development of standard operating procedures, training, and ongoing database administrator functions:

  • The PM is responsible for coordination and quality control between the team and the FAA.
  • The PM will perform periodic program reviews with the ENS project team as well as with the Senior C3 and ASH staff leadership, as required.
  • The PM will hold team meetings, document meeting minutes and coordinate all aspects of the ENS projects.

Qualifications

Must possess a Secret security clearance and pass a background investigation and be permitted to access PII and other sensitive information being stored in, or processed on, government systems. US citizenship is required.

  • Formal training in communications networks. Familiar with tracking metrics and health of system. Familiar with patch management and system upgrade procedures. Able to interface with an engineering and technical team to evaluate required system upgrades.
  • Formal training on, and/or expert experience with, common data management systems and interfaces such as Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Experience in data entry, retrieval and maintenance of essential information in multiple databases.
  • Experience tracking and monitoring data, reports, and other information
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
  • Experience drafting status reports.
  • Experience conducting research using search engines and other methods.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

Desired training and experience:

  • Formal training and/or experience in Project Management.
  • Experience manipulating multiple databases to identify anomalies and trends, or experience analyzing data or other information.
  • Experience drafting analytical or evaluative reports.
  • Aviation-related knowledge or experience.
  • Knowledge of Blackberry technology.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or math from an accredited college or university and 3 -7 years of experience. (Work Experience may substitute for degree)
