Job Description

General duties of the position:

  • Responsible for configuring and customizing SharePoint systems according to organization specifications, building scalable web applications, writing and modifying code, debugging software, and training others on functional usability.
  • Serves as the SharePoint administrator overseeing administrative functions and maintaining site to include daily updates/postings, troubleshooting issues and requests, monitoring user access, setting permission levels, etc.;
  • Provides enterprise architecture leadership to ensure technology solutions effectively support requirements.  Responsible for configuration and support of all SharePoint environments.  Manages installations, upgrades, and migration of existing sites and applications to new platforms.
  • Develops and implements SharePoint-based workflows and Business Intelligence dashboards.
  • Provides advice on and evaluation of new technologies to support better functionality; such as enterprise-wide collaboration, document management, development of spreadsheet macros, electronic forms, workflows, and imaging.
  • Assists with marketing type communications and online content.  Designs brochures, posters, pamphlets.
  • Build proof of concept examples or graphical simulation software. Maintain product test software and demos for training purposes.
  • Develop graphical user interface to display data/functions.  Design dashboards for easy understandable views of operational status.  Design solutions that include functional, intuitive, artful user interfaces for websites, SharePoint, or other media.
  • Participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Develop a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results.
  • Develop innovative concepts, approaches, methodologies, techniques, and policies that leverage technology, skillsets, and work activities and support the future vision of Technical Operations.
  • Document, track and follow-up on priorities, issues, and other action items as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and interim reports as required. 

Qualifications

Specific knowledge requirements and duties:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems; Software Engineering, or related discipline is desired.
  • 15 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in web development, including various programming language.
  • Extensive knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office software, proficiency with front-end programming languages, and the ability to solve complex software issues.
  • Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation.
  • Experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications.
  • Experience with software and technologies used for GUI development.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
